I think it depends more on your hub or router than your modem.

I won't be using a router or a hub, at least for now. I will just hook up the cable to the modem and to the back of the Xbox. Will that type of cable work? TIA.

If windows can use it so can the box. Youll probally have to set the settings manually though.

Could you elaborate on what settings I would have to change? I thought all I would have to do would be to connect the cable to the Xbox and to the cable modem after unplugging the cable that goes from the modem to my computer? Is it more complicated? Thanks again!

Shawn

Edit: All I really want is assurance that this cable is the type of cable that has the hookups for the cable modem and Xbox. So am I right? TIA.

Does this post even make sense?

It should autodetect the settings but without a router Im not 100%. But if it doesnt its not very difficult. You can get everything off the properties of your connection in Control panel and put it in the box settings. Very easy.

Okay, forgive me for not understanding. I don't know why I would have to alter the connection in Control Panel if the cable would not even be connected to the computer (It would just be connected to the Xbox and cable modem. Well, it would be interchanged between the Xbox and my computer. Like, when I want to play Xbox Live I would take the cable out of the computer and put it into the Xbox, and when I want to use the computer it would be taken out of the Xbox and put into the computer.) Am I being dumb or something?? I just don't understand. Could you help me? Thanks!!

No, Im just saying if it doesnt autodetect you may need to put in the settings. But its not very hard because its already sitting in your PC. Worst case senerio you just copy that.

Yes, 5e cable will work but 100ft is a pretty long run.

I know it's long, but I can't afford a wireless solution yet. Will there be a loss of quality(is that the word?) if the cable is too long? Is 100ft too long? TIA.

Solid copper Cat5 is for making long runs. Short cabling is often stranded copper and tends to degrade signal faster over longer distances. Solid copper is superior but doesn't stand up well to being bent repeatedly. You dont want to use solid if its the cable you roll up and stick in your laptop bag. If youre buying a 100 ft run its most likely solid.

Changing Voice Channels in UC

In UC how do you change voice channels from say CH1 to CH2? And I would assume this would be the same in GR (I haven't played that live yet, so I'm not sure if that is the case or not). TIA.
