Sweet. I'm pretty excited about this. I just finished FFX last week and liked it a lot until the last few hours. Very cool FF overall though.

Maybe I'll go do those sidequests now.

Square needs to make money after that awful, awful FF Movie so they are using a pre-existing engine, models, art etc. to make a FF cheap and raise capital.

Man would I love to play FFVII and IX with improved graphics! Both are held close to my heart! I love them! IX has to be one of the best FF of all time! Such a great story!

I hope these get remade....hell if it does happen...I might consider buying a PS2.

Yes, what is this?

As for raising money from the movie, I hear that all the profits from FF VII was funneled into it, so at worst they shouldn't be too far back from where they started...

Yuna with dual pistols? Weird. Any chance that this is a fake?

And does anyone have any clue who's on the logo?

Yes, I think this is a sequel continuing the story of FFX. Wouldn't this be the first time this was ever done in the FF series? Correct me if I'm wrong, but each FF game up to this point has had their own unique universe and set of characters and had no correlation to the previous game (except for FF trademarks like Chocobos and Cid).

Just to clarify:

1) No, this is not a fake. This is a real Final Fantasy game.
2) It is indeed the direct sequel to FFX - the first time ever that Square has made a direct sequel (ie. same cast and world) to one of its RPGs.
3) The game takes place 2 years after the battle with Sin. As you can see, Yuna now sports a more "modern" look and is now equipped with a gun. Apparently she is sick of summoning? Anyways, she's now the main character of the game.

I loved FFX, so a direct sequel is GREAT news to me!

Isn't there one coming out with Rikku as the main character as well?

I remember reading about these FFX "sidestory" games a while back, the the article said there'd be one with Yuna and one with Rikku.

Those stories were just the press screwing it up, apparently - there is only one version coming out.

I wonder if it will have a beach volleyball minigame.

Thanks. I was just curious. I had no interest in the Rikku one anyway. I thought she was a pretty lame character anyway. I didn't care much for Yuna either, mainly because her voice actor was terrible.

Why would they do that when they could just put all the FF girls in bikinis and make "Final Fantasy Extreme Beach Volleyball" and it would sell like hot cakes.

Or they could just do away with putting any gameplay to complement the T&A and just make "Final Fantasy: Girls Gone Wild." I'm sure that would be a hit as well.

Yuna's quiet demeanor is misleading, I bet she's an absolute animal in the sack.

acck! what have they done!?!? She looks way out of character. Wasn't she the summoner and a white mage? Now she's wielding dual pistols with no pants. Bleh! Ah well...i'll wiat for more information considering there's practically nothing yet. Whatever happened to FFXII anyway? I'm more interested in that then this sequel.

Well she found out that
Spoiler:
Yeven (sp?)
was a hoax so she likely gave up the summoning lifestyle.

Sorry, I though about it but figured anyone reading a thread about FFX-2 had played FFX. I edited and added the tags.

I'm still confused about the ending and overall story of FFX to this day. Who's got the Cliff's Notes?

No worries. I haven't picked it up in months, but plan to beat it eventually.
