Aghama - level up a bit before you finish the game otherwise the last boss is just irritating. I cruised until the very end and all of a sudden it was impossible.

I think you're definitely in the minority with most FF fans... Most of them didn't like VIII, but liked X a lot.
I loved X. Yuna was a good character, just not the best actress.

yes, i know... i just felt like it was too linear and scripted. and a lot of watching movies (beautiful as they were) rather than doing something. i also felt some of the random encounters were ridiculously frequent at times.
actually, i didn't like ff8 that much either so it's pretty damning for me to say that ffx was worse. maybe, i'm being too critical
yuna... talks... like... this?...

I'm in the minority as well: I love FFX and FFVIII and don't care for VII or IX. All are great games technically, but I do not like the deformed characters and such in VII and IX. I identify much more with human-like, realistic characters. Between X and VIII, I'm not sure which I like better. To me, X is certainly the best of all in terms of game engine and battle-system, but it is a close call in terms of characters and story between VIII and X...
So this FFX-2, has it really been confirmed? I heard they had posters of Yuna with the guns at a conference, but there was no word about a game related to it...until now, I guess. And this is supposedly in addition to the upcoming FFXI and FFXII? Isn't XII supposed to come out in Japan next year?

The thing about the Yuna acting ... it seems she was trying to match the lips. And since the facial mo-cap wasn't done for the US version (like it was in Kingdom Hearts) they chose to have her do that rather than have her talking when the characters mouth was closed.
It sucks, but that's the way things were. I hope X-2 is done a little better.

Wow, this is a huge surprise. I agree that Yuna looks absolutely ridiculous and out of character in those pictures. If they really want to create a "new" look for Yuna, they might as well just make a new game. Just imagine Yuna with that look with the quiet, at time choppy voice she had in FFX. It just doesn't work. I didn't even think that was Yuna at first, her face looks altered. While I'm a bit skeptical, I would without a doubt buy this game. I wonder why Square would choose to make a sequel for FFX rather than any of the earlier games? Yes, FFX has a little more room for a direct sequel, but if really wanted to be done, previous titles could have had direct sequels. Strange that I loved FFX, but I'm not all that excited about this..

Looks like they are starting to realize that if they have a good engine you can make the games more quickly.
I think this is good for FF fans since we might see a few more FF games a bit sooner than in the past. As long as quality control remains the games should remain good

Uh, there are no side stories in Japan. What you're reading about FFX-2 is the "side stories"...

Uh, that's basically the US version of X with Japanese subtitles and a few add ons.
There'd be no reason to re-release the US version here.
EGM also said "FFX-2" would be in three different versions. Heh.

That was one of the extra things in "International" -- it was a cutscene that leads into X-2 apparently. Once you finish X, search around the file share networks, you can find a subtitled version of it. It's pretty cool.

- Create your very own friend of Yuna
- Yuna has a photo shoot! Do her makeup, hair & more...
- Sing along with Yuna
- Shop with Yuna
It really sounds like the Japanese version of this:

I want a sequel to Final Fantasy VII. X is at a close second. Never played IX due that VIII's battle engine was so horrible that I stopped after trying to play it for like 5 hours and the whole card system really sucking. I heard IX had something similar so I stayed away. But hearing people's raves about it, I might reconsider. I think they should wait until the Ps3 before they remake FFVII so that the game can be as epic as it was when it first came out.

VIII and IX's battle systems were very different. IX was really conventional. Look into IX, it's a good game on its own. Plus it's cheap these days.
I doubt we'll see a VII remake. I'd love one, though.
