change your underwear and go grab this title (out today right?). Spend an hour or two behind the stick and then come post your impressions
For some reason, I really don't think it's gonna live up to the expectations and probably will not be included in my gaming library. But then again, I've been wrong before. well, once..

I bought this today, and am very happy with it. I've gone through the first 3 worlds, and got stuck on 4-1. The time "gimmick" (as GS referred to it) starts to get really cool starting about level 3-2 when you have to start using it to finish levels (the first 2 are pretty much you getting used to trying it out and controlling Blinx).
The graphics are just stunning so far, with no slow down at all yet. I like how the colors on screen will change when you use a time feature, and the sound will go along with what is happening on screen (when you use the time features, I mean).
The sound is nice, and the background music is actually quite good.
The controls are really easy to use (only 3 buttons), and don't take any getting used to.
I've just started upgrading my equipment (you get gold in levels, and can spend that on extra retry slots, extra time slots, better and different sweepers, different clothing, bombs, etc), and will have to go back to the earlier levels to fully complete them once I get a few more upgrades. Speaking of which, they make it pretty easy to tell what you need to go back to do to get all the secrets (like a 10 ton weight in your way, which you can't suck up until you have an awesome sweeper), which is nice.
Some reviewers said that the camera super sucked, but it's not really any worse then other 3D games. I've only had an enemy out of my sight once (due to the camera) in the first 3 worlds.

Oops I wet my pants. Heheheh...
I agree with cartman. It's a pretty cool game. The game is very much similar to Mario Brothers so you can't complain if you love Mario. I don't know why gamespot gave it such a bad review. I would give it an 8 out of 10. The graphics, sound, and gameplay are great.

I don't understand the reviews either... it seems like they are jealous or something. Jealous of what, I don't know... but they just sound like they are bitter cuz word of mouth (here and elsewhere) makes this game out to be quite good. The reviews are enough to keep me from rushing out to pay full price though - I'm still gonna pick it up off half.com. Maybe the reviewers just suck at playing video games, so they are complaining that the game is too hard... waaah.

Now that I'm getting more upgrades (time slots, retries, and junk holders), I'm enjoying it more and more. The only thing that worries me is that I bought the "super sucker" vacuum (can suck the 16 ton bags), but I think if I buy a different vacuum, I'll lose that one forever (or until I get 4000 gold to buy it again). Anyone that's playing it know if that's true?

Impressions of Blinx seem to range from "pretty good" to "pretty bad." I think some of the reviewers who panned the game were expecting something really excellent, and may have been overcritical when the game was not. On the other hand, there's nothing worse in gaming than an overhyped game that doesn't deliver (with the possible exception of carpal tunnel).
There have been specific complaints about various features of the game. Having to replay whole levels, with time limits, in order to get money to buy items sounds repetitive and frustrating.
If you enjoy the game, and feel it's worth your $50, then that's good. But this game was supposed to kill Mario and sell Xboxes this Christmas, and it probably won't do either.

First party stuff? I'm a believer. I believe Blinx will be huge. I wasn't sure before. I am now.
Didn't see anything for Sneakers and you probably don't even care, but there's something special planned for it and Blinx that will give Mario hairballs.

I talked to a guy at a local Software Etc. a week or so ago about Blinx. All of their managers recently went to a conference that was either Xbox specific or at least included a big demo by Microsoft.
He said Blinx didn't look bad, but it was buggy. Something about a bridge that collapses and Blinx is supposed to use the time tricks to end up crossing the bridge before it collapses. Unfortunately Blinx never made it back over the bridge (due to a bug). Even after executing the time trick, Blinx would always be *under* the bridge.
He said this left everyone kind of down on Blinx. Nothing horrible, but it's hard to get excited about a game that's buggy when they're showing it off.
I think it's interesting after being reminded of our recent rabid Xbox conference attendee. I wonder which demo HE saw?
