Blinx The Time Sweeper comes out next week - who's wetting their pants?

This is the first Xbox game that I may just buy at retail price rather than used. I can't wait for this game. Who else is excited about it?

Trig - I haven't purchased much for Xbox lately and I haven't heard of Blinx. What kind of game is it? Any reviews out yet?

Thanks.

IGN gave it an 8.8. The review is available for anybody to read at the moment. It's basically a platformer game, but with the twist that you can bend time in various ways in order solve problems and defeat enemies.

Innovative, but that review is far from extatic. It certainly is a game I would try if I had an Xbox, but it sure sounds tough and frustrating, which is a turn off for me in a platformer. All the preview video I saw of this game looked really blurry; I'm glad the game looks great in real life, I was worried.

I am going to rent after reading the IGN X-Box review. They are usually the ones that gush over games and give them a high score. With this review they are being as critical as IGN Cube is with all their games.

The major things were "heavy points of slowdown", "frustrating" and "horrid camera" in that review. Although they did say it was the best platformer available for X-Box.

Damn! Trigger you beat me to it. I was thinking about posting a Blinx thread.

Anyways, like you (but not wetting my pants ) I am very excited about Blinx. It's the first platformer that I wanted to play on my Xbox. It also appears to be very suitable for my daughter to watch/help me play. My only concern, is if will take time away from my xbox live time .

I've been waiting to see if any of the B&M stores will have a deal on it, since it comes out next week.

Since I am not a fan of platformers, I can wait. I will definitely give it a rental eventually. Hopefully they will have it as a demo on an OXM disc soon.

Has there been another version of Blinx on another system? I'm surprised I haven't really heard of this game, but it seems like I'm the real minority. Always cool to find these games that everybody loves that you somehow missed, tends to give it more credibility than just the usual review websites.

Considering how flakey my harddrive has been, Blinx might kill my whole system.

It looks interesting, but I doubt I will buy it. I would like to try a demo of it though. Seems more frustrating than fun from the reviews I've read.

Sum of All Fears I played as a demo for the PC - it's a weak Rainbow Six clone and it sucked.

Minority Report I can't say.

Blinx Blinx Blinx.

I my just have to pick this one up next week...

Too many good games coming out at once... I don't have time to beat them all.

(Still need to get into Kingdom Hearts too)

www.xbox.com has updated some of their movies --- new ones for some games, ie. Blinx, as well as some "first" movies for other games. check it out.

IGN loves their platformers, I would be a little concerned that they only gave the gameplay an 8.0. The fact that you have to replay levels just to refill your health and time meter seems kinda annoying, I wonder why IGN views this as a positive? Why do they consider the camera to be part of "graphics?"

Well I'm not paying much attention to the review - some of their complaints include "it's too hard - whine whine"... another thing is that perhaps if they like Platformers so much they are maybe being loyal to Nintendo - they did mention that it's not like Mario or traditional platformers... or something like that - someone find the direct quote. Then again, they could be being generous and the game actually sucks. I'll still pick it up - if it sucks, I'll just sell it.

As I get older, I don't think it's possible for me to reach pants-wetting excitement about any game, no matter how good.

The only title I'd consider borderline-Depends material is NHL 2k3. I only wish every gamer knew just how easily NHL 2k2 eclipsed NHL 2002 in every aspect of the sport of hockey, because NHL 2k3 should be the easiest sports gaming decision of the year. Oh well.
