another question: is the taxi that looks kind of like a chevy caprice or a ford crown victoria, one of the most agile or is it just me? I can turn super good with it, and do what I think is called a J turn super easily. I know it's not that fast compared to some of the other cars but it seems to handle better than most of the ones I've driven

Mikehunt,
The regular Taxi(not the retro looking Cabbie) is IMHO one of the best all around cars in the game. It's reasonably fast and corners like it's on rails. Plus it's easy to find which is good.

I'm thinking of getting a truck and just intercepting them at a later checkpoint and running them off the road. would that work?
my driving skills are decent, but I haven't found a car that can keep up speed wise
I haven't beaten this sidemission yet so someone else might have good advice - but i do believe the cars they are racing are indestructible so your plan most likely wouldn't work. Supposedly that banshee car in the insurance place down by 8-Balls garage is a good one to get. Just break through the glass and jack it.

sounds good, I was also thinking of car jacking one of the racers before the race. probably isn't possible through
I love the taxi, plus it can earn easy money

Where to start?

First, the taxi is a pretty good car, but by no means one of the best in the game. It's just very average, with nothing exceptional about it. Nothing punishing, but nothing great either. It's slow, but not the slowest car. It handles better than the ambulance, but not as good as the sports car. It takes damage better than the sports cars, but not as good as trucks. The police car is better all-around than the taxi, and personally, if I can find one, I like the Patriot if I'm going for all around goodness. Generally though, there's always a car better suited to what you're trying to accomplish than the taxi. Don't get me wrong, I used it for a great deal of Portland and was initially very enamoured with it -- but, as I got better at driving, I found myself ditching it as quickly as possible.

There are several ways to beat "Turismo". The easiest is to get a tank or a rocket launcher (I think this should work, but haven't tried) and simply destroy the racers at the starting line (or wait for them after they take off). Might have to cheat or wait a while to get a tank or rocket launcher though.

The cars themselves are bulletproof, and you can't carjack them, because the doors are locked. They are pretty much destruction proof during the race, but as stated above, they can be destroyed with the tank. If you manage to get one, it will only be bulletproof and will take normal damage from crashing.

So, how do you get a bulletproof Cheetah (the cars you're racing against in Turismo)? There are a great deal of faqs on it, but basically, you'll have to create a roadblock (use busses) that sends the cars into the area near your hideout, or manage to flip one of the over another way. Then, you must wait until the mission ends. The guy will then leave the car and it will be upside down and still locked. Then, you must push it into your empty garage while never letting it out of your sight. Let the garage close on it, and then you can get into it and drive it away. It is bulletproof, but not destruction proof (you have to get a certain mafia stretch limo for that).

If you want to play the mission straight up, use the Banshee found at the new car dealership. However, you'll have to get good at controlling the car, as the Banshee does not hold up well to repeated collisions. Most of the commonly available cars will be too slow.

Oh, and I do recommend doing this mission as soon as possible, or doing it in a bulletproof cheetah (for speed) or tank (bulletproof and can destroy the competition). If you wait too long, Portland will become a warzone, and you won't be able to drive through certain areas that Turismo takes you through unless you have a bulletproof car.

Not sure if you fixed this yet but in the read me txt there is a section on this by the way I had the same problem, any way you have to download a new dll file from microsoft. Here is the link
