I'll get it on the GC eventually for Link. It'll have to wait a while, buying an X-box for KOTR killed my gaming budge for a while. Not to mention that's taking up all my gaming time, and I still have Rygar, Jak and Daxter and Mark of Kri to play through.

I'm not buying this game since I hate the genre with a passion, but, man, you gotta get the Cube version.

Link, man, Link.

'nuff said. Please think about what I've said

I won't be shocked if I end up with both the Xbox and GC versions.

His little video clip showing off his moves sucks the big one (spawn). Either way, both the Cube and the Box versions are better then the ps2 version.

Spawn = teh suck. Its like they took Hwang, Yun Sung, and Nightmare then BOOM..one crappy katta later and you got Spawn. Im going to give it one more chance but from what I played of him at E3, and seeing his katta a few weeks ago..Im not impressed.

I have nothing against the GC version. But Link? Come on. Samus would have been much cooler.

So, I need a deal on the Soul Calibur II sticks for the cube. I can't imagine playing it with the regular controller.

Will there be any significant differences between the Japan and US versions of these games?

BTW I'm hoping to get an Xbox before this game comes out. I have no idea why they included Heihachi as the PS2 exclusive character. I don't care how good you are at hand to hand combat, if someone takes a swing at you with a samuri sword, they win!

I can't believe all you people missed this. We have a celebrity in the VG forum . He was my favorite in Soul Edge . In Soul Calibur I switched to Kilik and Chai Xianghua.

Decker, there's virtually no difference between the japanese version and the US version. The US version has been finished for months, damn strategized marketing.

I've played and beaten the Gamecube demo that was on the Preview disc more than dozen times and occasionally pop it in for a SCII fix, this game rocks just a hard if not better than the arcade version.

Wrong, the U.S version will feature the return of Rock, Hwang, and Lizardman as playable characters.

Ill be getting the GCN versions simply because its the only console I have. And I get Link which is even better. I've played the demo and it was great, it wasnt hard to control I just didn't know what did what or any combos. You guys can go here for pictures or all the characters different costumes and weapons and move. Courtesy of the Soul Calibur II forums

You know Im a member of that forum and I can easily say it is the worst forum I have ever had the displeasure of posting on. You should have seen those boards when Link, Spawn and Heihachi were only rumors. Each member swore up and down the ladder that they would stop playing the game if Namco let this happen. It was really lame.

I played the demo on the recent Xbox demo disc & I wasn't that impressed. I don't know much about the history of fighter games but it just seemed like an exact copy of DOA3 with freaks instead of well-endowed girls. Which series came first?

The graphics were pretty & very smooth (far & above Tao Feng or Kakuto Chojin) but DOA3 still seemed a little above it (maybe the outfits are clouding my mind). The fighting seemed like a button masher (which everyone bitched about with DOA3) and the format is the same.

Again, I am not a big fighter gamer but after all the hype, it didn't seem that great. Of course this is going just by a demo disc. What did you guys think of the demo?

Just my opinion here but you are way off base. It's because of crappy button mashing happy games like DOA a lot of XBox owners will not give Soul Calibur a second look. While DOA was out before Soul Blade (the very first game in the series) Soul Blade still plays better than the first DOA. While DOA 3 has break away levels it will never touch the tech, or style of Soul Calibur. If you havent been playing this game since Calibur part 1 then I recoomend you keep playing DOA, or find another game to purchase on the 26th. The fighting system in Soul Calibur is very intuative, and doesnt require that you continually smack one button over and over again until you hit the other person through a wall. Im not trying to jump on your case I just have a real disgust for the DOA series. To tell you to stay away from Soul Calibur 2 is not an insult but if you simply dont get it then dont bother.

I hate the DOA games as well.

It's true you can button mash in the SC games, but you won't get far doing it, especially against someone who knows what they're doing, where as in the DOA games button mashing pretty much always works.
