Gameboy Advance Price Drop

From Gamespot.com

Nintendo lowers the price of its popular handheld.

Nintendo has officially announced a worldwide price reduction for the Game Boy Advance, lowering the price of the handheld to $79.95. The company revealed that the price drop is the result of efficiency in the manufacturing process and a reduction in overall production costs. The Game Boy Advance was responsible for 20 percent of all hardware sales in 2001, selling more than 5 million units.
Now if i could just find a deal or coupon to get that down another 15-20$

This is great news!

Now only if Sony followed Nintendo's lead. The GBA is a huge seller, and has absolutely no competition; Nintendo could have sold as many GBA units this year as they had last even if they did not lower the price.

Playstation 2 on the other hand has remained at a stable $300, even after the appearance of major competition. I am sure the manufacturing costs of the Playstation 2 have dwindled since last year.

All the more reason for them to keep selling them at $300 and make more profit. Or, well, take less of a loss.

Does it mean most of the store will sell it for $69? Because most of the stores are selling GBA for $89 although MSRP is $99.

Yup, saw that 24 hrs ago, but the subject for that one is not so explicit.

Anyway, does anyone know if places like Wal-mart will sell GBA for $69?
