Holy ****!

I've seen some other pics from the Cube reincarnatrions of the RE games and they looked great as well. The use of light and shadow is amazing. These games look to be visual masterpieces, which is good because I never thought the RE games were much fun.

I dunno ... the graphics would blow me away if everything was realtime. But just looping movies in the background while the system is doing the characters polygons ... I should hope it looks that good.

And I really can't justify buying this game again. I played it 6 years ago. And then the "Director's Cut". I think I'm good on RE 1. If they were remaking RE 2... that'd be awesome.

If the graphics don't impress you maybe should go back and take a look at the orignal. Anyways, I believe they're remaking all the RE games plus making a new one, RE Zero. All are Cube exclusives for the time being.

The only one being remade is RE 1. RE 2, Nemesis and Code Veronic will just be ports like the PS2 and Dreamcast versions. And their are two new RE games coming to the Gamecube, RE 0 and RE 4.

"Take..this...Jill,...this...is....a....lock...pick....I think you....the master of all lock picks.....should have it....."

hehe I heard this line on Extended Play's "Engrish" feature and they singled out this guy as the worst voice actor on the planet . Its not Engrish, but its definitely bad writing and extremely poor voice acting yet funny at the same time. Wonder if they'll keep that line in.

They are supposed to be redoing/remaking about 70% of the game but you have to wonder if they'll keep lines like that in just for kicks. In the FFchronicles FFIV they kept in the line "you spoony bard" even though it was a befuddled translation LOL!

I never played the Original Resident Evil by the way, so I'm really looking forward to this one.

So you're not impressed by the real time fire and particle effects?

I had a video of this game and it looked great. If the backgrounds were pre-rendered stuff like the original games then I really couldn't tell. There's enought shadows, reflections, interaction and animations in the backgrounds to immerse you into it. And there's ultra-gore in it too. I hope they don't censor it.

Graphics look awesome, but should not be the only thing you should care about. I will guarantee it will eventually come to the other systems. Capcom can't seem to stay on only one system even if its life depends on it.

I wouldn't be so sure. Nintendo threw alot of money Capcom's way in order to make the new RE games exclusive.

Have you ever looked at Capcom's history? Even in a press release they stated their multi-platform gaming strategy for their titles. Code Veronica was thought to be exclusive but it ain't now. The only exclusive Gamecube has is time. A similiar tactic Microsoft tired to do with its third party developers for their titles.

>I wouldn't be so sure. Nintendo threw alot of money Capcom's way in order to make the new RE games exclusive.

A popular myth statement. Confidently show me evidence of Nintendo throwing money at Capcom for an exclusive deal.

I can't comment on the money, I don't know anything about that, but apparently the capcom guys love programming on the cube...

I hope Capcom brings their Street Fighter series to the Cube. Nintendo hasn't had a fightiing game in a long time.

Too bad the Gamecube controller isn't really ideal for fighters, though. Playing SF on that controller would be pretty horrendous.
Everytime you wanted to do a medium kick you'd have to press the "R" button. It would wear out the spring action quickly I'd imagine.

The 2nd and 3rd pics look great, but the flame in the first pic has that "repeated flame blob" look to it. You know, the same thing they've done since the 2d platformer days, where they stack several bitmaps depicting flame on top of each other to simulate a stream of fire. This looks much better of course and probably involves polygons, but still not that impressive. I think other games have already sported effects that look as good.. most recently in Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
