Gosh.. people, calm down.
I agree with Centurion, no game is perfect. But if you're not going to buy Halo just because it doesn't have bots then you're missing out on a great game, even in single player.

ppl need not forget that HALO was orignally slated for the PC.
it was suppose to pack a million features that got filtered out due to time restraints and overall size
one of the things I remember was in co-op for the pc version players would be able to be the good guys AND the aliens
not to mention a handful of guns that got left out
supposedly this thing is still a go for the pc,if that's true we haven't seen ANYTHING yet
the x-box version may as well be the PC demo made for the console.
if in fact it does still get released for the pc,time will tell

HALO is the best console game I have ever played and THE best console or PC FPS. Its only drawback its the lack of bots in multiplayer mode. Unreal is a toy compared to this game. It totally raises the bar for FPS, this is the one that all others will be compared to. The $300 price tag for the Xbox is worth it just for this game.
IMO of course

If this is true, a "HALO: SPECIAL EDITION " would be cool for the XBOX!

I'm taking my time and playing this game with MUCH enjoyment. I've replayed levels just so I can snipe aliens
I love filling up the WARTHOG with solidiers, parking it by a tree and using it like turret......

While Halo on the PC may be very cool, let's not forget that there are things the Xbox can do that can't be guaranteed on the PC.
For most people I would imagine Halo on the PC is not going to look nearly as good on the PC as it does on the Xbox. Unfortunately the PC version can't depend on the pixel shaders and the highly tuned graphcs pipeline that the Xbox has for bump mapping and environmental and reflective effects.
Sure, a nice fast machine with a top of the line Radeon or Geforce 3 might be able to do it, but most machines can't.
Halo will be a great title on the PC, but I don't think it will pack quite the graphical punch that it does on the Xbox, but then again the Bungie team is one of the best in the industry, they might pull some pretty cool tricks out of their hat.

for those of you who have been disappointed with HALO - shame on you... Lets face it, the game kicks butt. Granted, it may have missed the mark on a few areas, but thats what this whole gaming industry is all about (It would be impossible to please everybody). Eventually, another company is going to make a game and one-up HALO and so on and so on... Did you honestly think that you were going to sit there and play HALO for the rest of the life of your XBox? Doubtful! You eventually get bored of every game you own. Thats why XBox is pushing the online experience so much, cuz it adds a completely whole new dimension to the game. When Quake2 came out and people went multiplayer it ruled (for a long time) and playing against other "people" as opposed to "bots", well you can't compare the experience (physically and psychologically) - its just that much more enjoyable knowing that someone was actually trying to evade you! I don't know of any other console title that allows that kind of experience and enjoyment. If you haven't tried online HALO, then you should if possible, cuz its fun as hell! As someone mentioned before, just take this game for what it is - setting the standard for console FPS (single or multiplayer) and hope it has sparked the creativity for games to follow! Just my $0.02
