I prefer to play video games without getting an erection, hence my decision to buy a gamecube (though that Peach in Super Smash Brothers Melee really turns me on . . .)

SSB:M is a hell of a lot less a rehash than DOA3. DOA3s the EXACT SAME GAME as the Dreamcasts (and the PS2s)! I own the DC and the Box versions, and unlike you I actually own SSB:M.

If anything is tired its DOA3.

jolt, why bash either of them? DOA3 has absolutely beautiful graphics. Smash Bros. Melee is super fun. Both good games.

No offense was taken. I was just making a point. I'm not easily offended number 1, and number 2 a comment about Nintendo being for only for little kids is foolish, stupid, and a waste of time and energy to even consider an attack. I simply want people to open their eyes. Anyone read that comic I posted at the bottem of my first post?

Anyhoo... I have Smash Bros and DOA3. I would tend to agree with joltaddict. Saying that Smash Brothers is is a simple game or that its just more of the same with no visual improvments is an obvious lack of what the game is. DOA3 is a nice looking game, but offers nothing over the other versions available in the gameplay department. That said there are many aspects to smash bros melee that I find much more advanced and in addition to the original version.

In addition, something may be marketed twoards a particular audiance, but that does not mean it only exists for that audiance. There a plenty of examples of this all around us.

In the end, none of this matters... So I'll just stop now.

I'm just gonna wait till Metroid comes out before I pick up a gamecube controller, but it is nice to see some old friends like,
Pit and the Ice Climbers Duo on super smash melee.

heres hoping for there full return on the Cube!

I wasnt. I was pointing out the flaw in logic where all of the problems Cyberock said were in SSB:M are not only present in DOA3 but even more pronounced. After saying SSB:M was just a prettied up version of the same game how can you possibly say you prefer DOA3?

Saying his comment was "stupid, foolish and a waste of time and energy" is rude and insulting and it shows how you were indeed upset at what he said. You also seemed to get all hostile and defensive after my last post and called 'whoever' a moron and got all sarcastic and caustic. You don't have to get so emotional about this subject. It's a fact that Nintendo markets themselves mostly to children and young teenagers (which I consider children)... Their games have solid gameplay and most of them are without the flashy sex and violence that other consoles use to move product. This makes them a family oriented console maker. Nothing wrong with that, but some people prefer consoles that offer more mature gaming.

Xbox and PS2 round out that department with some fantastic titles containing mature themes as well as content more suitable for older gamers. Gameplay and Maturity are not related in the slightest. Maturity is related to the games subject matter alone. All games are basically the same otherwise - it's just pressing buttons and moving joysticks. It's always been that way. I'm sure Pikoman is tons of fun to play - but it doesn't interest me enough for me to buy a GCN. My girlfriend bought me an Xbox and a few months ago I bought a Dreamcast - before that I had been exclusively a PC gamer and the games I liked to play the most were First Person Shooters. I played nearly all FPS games ever created. Some I liked and some I didn't. Depends on the story. I can tell you I wouldn't care to controll a cartoony plumber around a haunted house sucking up cartoony ghosts with a vacuum cleaner. That's not my taste. That doesn't make me a moron or stupid or any of the things you seem inclined to accuse someone of being because he or she doesn't share your viewpoint. I, like some others have played with and found the Gamecube to be something I'm not interested in. I don't think less of anyone who owns one and I don't think there's anything wrong with playing games that are made for ALL AGES instead of games made for 17 and Up. It all comes down to personal tastes. Heck - I watch Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab on Cartoon Network, that doesn't mean I'm an infant or have the intelligence of a 10 year old any more than someone who likes to play plinkoman on Gamecube.

As for Smash Brothers and DOA3 - I haven't played any of the previous versions of either of these games, but I've played DOA3. I think it's pretty cool. Once you start learning the moves and stuff, it's pretty fun. I have my gripes with it, but nothing can really touch Mortal Kombat in my eyes. I can tell you that fighting games are all pretty much the same and the only difference is the graphics. There is another difference though - there's the type of fighter that you pull the joystick away from the opponent to block and the type of fighter where you hit a button to block. I prefer the latter so I never really got interested in Street Fighter 2 or any of the other games like that. DOA3 is close enough to Mortal Kombat that it'll do and even though the novelty of the hot chicks wore off after the first 20 minutes, I'd still rather play a fighter with characters that look like this that characters that look like Pokomon and Mario... but that's just a preference. As for Plinkoman, I don't know what the gameplay is like, but the X-Box has Fusion Frenzy which is this multiplayer family game with these goofy olympic events. It's pretty childish, but fun nevertheless - I can see myself buying it so I can understand the point of view of you GCN fans.

I say just let the "GCN is for children" comments roll off your back - they aren't directed at you guys... just at the console. You guys have done your fair share of "Microsoft sucks" commenting as well.
