Wow! You're the first person I have read that did not like Rogue Leader. Been so many great reviews on it. I just bought the game today since my gamecube is coming on Tuesday.
I don't own the system, but I've played Rogue Leader - I wasn't impressed either. I just don't see how it's anything new. I can see that it's a decent little system and the price is nice. I just doubt I would ever play it even if someone bought me one for Christmas along with the 5 most promising games. My tune might change when RE comes out, but the new screenshots of that look less impressive than the first set... I reserve judgement though until I play it myself.

I have to say I am also very disappointed with Rogue Leader. The radar was garbage, but what really pissed me off was how SLOOOOOOOW it felt. I just never felt like I was really screaming by people. I was always saying to my self "come on get there already." How useless was the turbo button????

I liked Rogue Leader, but I noticed a few things that bothered me:

-the sound. What's with all this hoopla over Factor 5's sound techniques? The music and sound effects are still WAY too tinny and weak, I agree there. I hate midi music -- I want full-blown, orchestral music when I hear the Empire theme! Are we seeing the sound limits of the GC already?

-This game pressures you too much --it's downright pushy. There's no freedom to roam around and do other things. It's always pushing you or pulling you from here to there, and everything feels like a rush.

-other things are the length of the game, gold medal difficulty (which is damn impossible in some parts),and the graphics aren't that great.
