Any word yet on GC component availability?
I was just wondering if anybody had heard anything yet about Gamecube component cable availability. Are the cables going to be available anywhere other than the Nintendo website any time soon? Thanks.

I doubt the Nintendo ones will be available in stores, so I'd just go ahead and order them from them. There's simply not enough people that use component inputs to justify putting them out. Especially when their target market is younger and more casual gamers. That's not a flame at all, I have the GC and it's the only next-gen system I'm planning on buying. There is a chance that a third party company might release GC component cables, but I haven't heard anything about it.
I don't use the component cables for my GC as I use my component inputs for my DVD player. S-video is fine for me as I don't have progressive scan anyway. I did order the S-video cable from Nintendo though. The third party ones had plastic blocks that kept you from being able to pull them apart, which wouldn't work for me as I wanted to plug the S-video directly in my Wega and run the sound cables to my receiver. It took about 2 weeks to get here, but I did order just before Thanksgiving when UPS takes a 4 day break.
