*knock knock*

"Speedy, this is Attorney General John Ashcroft. Open up!"

I'm not sure if you should be talking about this sort of thing on here.

Fire bad!

I picked up RTCW and SWAT 3 from the good sale that Compuexpert/Gogamer had going on... played RTCW for a little while, but I've been playing the heck out of SWAT 3.

Fire bad!

did you save it in a moment of certain death?

I hate it when you save your game right when you are in a no way to live situation.

Same thing happened to me, it was a wall that kept falling down and killing me. I could move a bit forward and then I was crushed every time. Look for autosaves. It will start you back at the beginning of the level, but at least you don't die every time.

I'm stuck in this level as well, the part where there is spikes below in the water. On the wall before entering that part, the hand symbol appears, but I try doing anything and nothing works. Any ideas?

I remember that... The hand comes up because there is a switch behind the wall. You have to find a way to open the wall. I don't remember how right off, but there is a way.

my save was at the start of the level.
all seems ok, I started it up saturday to show me friend before i left for my parent's house and the save game worked fine so I guess all it needed was a restart of the game

Goblincat is right; to get to the switch you need to find a way to open the panel on the wall (where the hand symbol appears).

Spoiler:
Throw a short fuse grenade across the broken bridge to open the room on the other side, then run and jump across bridge, activate the switch, jump back, activate the switch on this side (now visible where the hand icon was) and viola!, you can now safely jump down into the fog (not water ) without fear of being sodomized by a rusty, 6 foot spike.

About 10 mins after I posted the Q, I figured it out. Sodomized by a 6 foot spike? Now that, sounds like something Goblincat would like!

I just bought this today and I’m still at WORK!!!

I’ve been looking at the game screenshots on various sites and I have a question for those that have played this.
There are a ton of gorgeous shots that don’t show your on screen information or a weapon in the lower right hand corner. I don’t know if these are cinematics or test screens. Are these shots comparable to how good this game looks while you are playing? (i.e. when I can shoot these cool lookin’ characters, will they look this good?)

ex. -

Does it really look like this when you're playing!?!

Great game, played it at my brother's. However, when I try to launch it on my own machine, it tells me it can't load the OpenGL subsystem. Help!

Edited to say that I downloaded the updated driver for my video card and it now works.

I got the naked elite skin, and they're naked in the cutscenes too, not just during game play

I encountered this problem in singleplayer mission 7, part 1.

Spoiler:

After killing a super soldier in the underground passages, I enter a small room with a hole in the floor. I drop thru the hole and end up underwater. I come back up and swim a bit, up to a point where I can walk. Just before I encounter a guy with a flamethrower, I start getting an "out of flame chunks" message which repeats itself over and over in the upper left hand corner of my screen and the game becomes very choppy. Note that I'm not using the flamethrower at that point. After many tries (backing up to the point where the message doesn't come up and letting the flamethrower guy come up to me instead) I manage to kill him and move forward. Message comes up again over and over until I managed to move forward far enough then it disappear. I managed to get to the end of that passageway where there is a ladder that goes up over a mesh metal fence. On the other side is a super soldier. Unfortunately, as soon as I approach the ladder, the "out of flame chunks" message starts scrolling over and over again and the game gets so choppy that even if I manage to climb up, I get blown to bits because my movements are choppy and slowed down to almost nothing... If I go down the ladder and back up far enough the message disappear. Of course I'm stuck at that point now!

Yes it does. The cutscenes are crafted using the same rendering software and models and everything that are used in the game itself. Console games are more prone to make cutscenes at ILM with a movie special effects crew rather than use the familiar in-game graphics engine. Wolfenstien does have a great movie in the beginning though which blows away anything I've seen on a console - but there hasn't been anything so far during the game that's been anything but the same graphics engine and I'm probably 2/3 of the way through the game already. That picture you posted is somewhat of a spoiler I think, but anyway - it looks exactly like that during the game and I haven't seen a cut scene from that part of the game, so I imagine it's just a screenshot from the game.

when installing the demo the same pic is displayed in the background. I'm not too sure about the gameplay itself because my computer keeps crashing every time I die!!! aarrgghhh!! I know, just don't die and I won't have any problems But from the little bit of the game I've seen, the graphics a beautiful. This radeon 8500 is awesome!
