I picked up RTCW and SWAT 3 from the good sale that Compuexpert/Gogamer had going on... played RTCW for a little while, but I've been playing the heck out of SWAT 3.

did you save it in a moment of certain death?
I hate it when you save your game right when you are in a no way to live situation.

Same thing happened to me, it was a wall that kept falling down and killing me. I could move a bit forward and then I was crushed every time. Look for autosaves. It will start you back at the beginning of the level, but at least you don't die every time.
I'm stuck in this level as well, the part where there is spikes below in the water. On the wall before entering that part, the hand symbol appears, but I try doing anything and nothing works. Any ideas?

my save was at the start of the level.
all seems ok, I started it up saturday to show me friend before i left for my parent's house and the save game worked fine so I guess all it needed was a restart of the game

Goblincat is right; to get to the switch you need to find a way to open the panel on the wall (where the hand symbol appears).

Spoiler:
About 10 mins after I posted the Q, I figured it out. Sodomized by a 6 foot spike? Now that, sounds like something Goblincat would like!

I just bought this today and I’m still at WORK!!!
I’ve been looking at the game screenshots on various sites and I have a question for those that have played this.
There are a ton of gorgeous shots that don’t show your on screen information or a weapon in the lower right hand corner. I don’t know if these are cinematics or test screens. Are these shots comparable to how good this game looks while you are playing? (i.e. when I can shoot these cool lookin’ characters, will they look this good?)

Does it really look like this when you're playing!?!

Great game, played it at my brother's. However, when I try to launch it on my own machine, it tells me it can't load the OpenGL subsystem. Help!
Edited to say that I downloaded the updated driver for my video card and it now works.

when installing the demo the same pic is displayed in the background. I'm not too sure about the gameplay itself because my computer keeps crashing every time I die!!! aarrgghhh!! I know, just don't die and I won't have any problems
But from the little bit of the game I've seen, the graphics a beautiful. This radeon 8500 is awesome!
