Xbox system linking...

Just kinda an fyi, don't spend $20 for the microsoft brand system link cable...it's only an ethernet crossover cable

So if you're gonna link up (which I highly reccommend, the Halo multiplayer is awesome), just spend 2 bucks on a regular cross-over cable

Any sites out there dedicated to hacking the x-box? I checked AVSForum but nothing.

Someone is working on tricking your XBox into thinking its on a LAN while its actually on the Net. That way people can play multi. Halo over the net.

That's interesting. Got any links? I'm just curious about how they're doing it technically. I'm guessing they're doing it by using a PC on either end to act as a bridge by tunneling the local packets over the internet?

Only what I have read at TeamXBox. Wait a couple weeks and see if anything develops.

And you are exactly correct. They use the PC and a program that does all the work.

Is it possible to link three xboxes together for Halo?

yeah, you'd need a hub and straight-through ethernet cables

That'd be a cool hack. The main problem is that the game may not handle the additional latency in net play very well. And, of course, it's quite possible that MS has gone out of their way to make this impossible.

You may be right. I don't see how it would hurt M$ though. Although, when Halo comes out for the PC it could make things very interesting.
