DDR PSX v Dreamcast

I've been thinking about picking up Dance Dance Revolution from one of new advertisers (RedOctane)

But I'm trying to figure out if I should get it for the PSX or Dreamcast.

Anyone have either version and could give some advice.

Get the PS version, since there is supposedly a new 2nd mix disc coming out for it next year.

I would buy the PS version since there are only two DDR games for the Dreamcast.

PS has the following:

DDR (US)
DDR Disney Mix (US)
DDR (Jap- different from US version)
DDR 2nd mix (JAP)
DDR 3rd mix (JAP)
DDR 4th Mix (JAP)
DDR Best Hits (JAP)
DDR Extra Mix (JAP)
DDR 5th Mix (JAP) *latest release*

Geoff, are you getting a pad too? If so, the PSX is definitely the way to go, especially if you have a mod chip. If not, it probably doesn't matter too much.

Am I reading this wrong? Why would the mod chip matter for getting a pad, also. Or are you saying that this would let you play all the Japanese games as well?

PSX. There are all versions of the game for it, Dreamcast only has 2nd mix.. and there are many more options for different pads on the PSX. The DC version doesn't offer anything over the PSX one.

Dance Dance Revolution Club Mix JAP-EC

You can always get an adapter to use the PSX pads on the DC (they're quite common). In which case I'd then get whatever DDR is the best. Unfortunately I've only played one of the PSX releases so I can't say for sure which that would be. I'd say it would come down to the music tracks on each release.
