This game has some of the prettiest FMV's I've EVER seen!

Hmm, I hope they include a game along with all that FMV.

I have a PS2, pre-ordered a GameCube, and if I do get an Xbox it won't be for a while... I am not very impressed with their game line up for the launch and near future.

Seeing the success (lack of...) of the Final Fantasy movie I really hope

I already have a PS2 which I play all the time and for those of you who are considering it, I can't recommend it enough. As far as the systems that are coming out toward the end of this year the only one I'll definitely get is the Gamecube. I've never been disappointed w/ a Nintendo system and I don't see why this would be any different. I'm looking forward to new versions of classics like Luigi's Mansion, a new Zelda, a new Metroid, and hopefully a new Castlevania.

Same exact thing for me..... (Well, except I haven't pre-ordered the Gamecube yet. But I will soon.)

PS2

PS2 for these reasons.....

1. Gran Turismo 3
2. Devil May Cry
3. Final Fantasy X (XI and XII too)
4. Xenosaga
5. Metal Gear Solid 2
6. Madden 2002
7. Code Veronica
8. Silent Hill 2
9. Tony Hawk 3
10. NHL 2002
11. Ninja Gaiden
12. Tenchu 3
13. Redone Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX
14. Twisted Metal Black

and more I am sure I have missed....now sure, some of these will be on other systems (like Madden, NHL....but PS2 has them now, or in the very near future). The others are PS2 exclusive, and will be out shortly (with a couple exceptions). No other system can compete with this list any time soon, or probably throughout its life span.

With that, I still may buy a Game Cube (due to the recent Resident Evil news, and Metroid). X-Box has nothing. To the guy refering to the specs....please don't talk about meaning less things. You can buy a X-Box with all the power in the world, and with no quality games, it means absolutely nothing. Anyway, I am sure this has been discussed here before, so I won't keep on it. This is how I feel.

You missed NBA Street and NBA 2k2.

I have a PS2 and I plan on getting a GameCube if I can find a place to preorder it from. If I can't preorder it, I doubt I'll be able to find it anywhere when it launches, so does anyone know of any places where I can still reserve it? I heard Toys R Us isn't taking preorders until September 24th, so that's a possibility. But I also heard that they might not be taking preorders at all, so who knows.

And then people are telling me that you can only order it in a bundle for $500 from most places. I'm not paying much more than about $300 total (system, memory card and a game). If anyone has some info, let me know.

I asked about Gamecube yesterday and the local Gamestop said they should have quite a few on the launch day and they do not sell bundles in stores. They were not sure if they would preorder though. They then tried to talk me into getting an Xbox instead.

The retailers seem to be more concerned with pushing the more expensive Xbox than they are the Gamecube. I wonder how much money Microsoft is spending to get this system such a spotlight. I'm sure its more than the $18 per bundle kick back.

The good news is with everyone so concerned about Xbox I don't think I will have too much trouble getting a Gamecube.

I don't think you will have to worry about that. Remember Nintendo is having great success with the Game Boy Advance, so they don't have to have the Game Cube become the number one console. They have a lot of loyal followers and a strong appeal to the kids, so Nintendo will be around for a long time. Xbox is fighting with the PS2 more than anyone else.

N64 bombed big time IMHO. I saw a few N(ngawed)64's in many game shops here. I don't blame the users for being pissed and feeding the N64 to the dog or chewing it themselves (ouch!). Friends of mine and I laughed when we saw a N64 selling for $20 CDN that was half bitten off. Literally. None of the electronics where damaged other then the major chunks taken out by teeth marks and exposed circuitry. Frieds and I laughed it up but had to get the owner to let us try the bitten up system just to check it out. ROTFL...

Nintendo seems to be always getting the handheld systems well designed. The original game boy is like a brick! I've heard stories of a original GB taking 1 flight of stairs in a house and working like new. Tho I won't put that to the test for the GBA. The GBA is a well designed system but the quility is a different story. Dropping a GBA would almost give it a knockout in the head and your GBA would be dead.

I've always loved collecting haldheld systems tho handhelds don't always have that many good games. I wish some third party makes a SNES convertor that you can stick into the GBA and play FINAL FANTASY 3 and CHRONO TRIGGER ^_^;;

Well, I'm off.

Do you know if the 8G hd can be upgraded? I mean are they using a standard HD or are they using mini HD's in like laptops? I"ve always wondered about this because if its a mini or a normal HD I'm thinking we can use drive image and copy the original HD and mirror that info on a 30 or 40 or 100G hd and have almost 1000x more space.

Lets all hope that the Xbox and GameCube drive the PS2 to rock bottom $99 USD pricing. Futureshop here is listing Xbox around $500ish CDN (at last check) which is half a GRAND! GOD DAMN! FOr half a grand you can get a cheap-ass eco computer with equal that power of the Xbox and play some rental games.

I'm where SquareSoft is. Final Fantasy is what keeps me buying a system. I hope Nintendo will have a new Final Fantasy game for the GBA. MGS2 and FFX are probably the main reasons why I want to buy a PS2.

They are redoing FF7/8/9?? WTF is this info coming from? You have a offical site or readups on this information? I would live to see FF7 redone. Speaking of FF7 I just recently picked up my lifesize stainless "god damn heavy 50lb+" Cloud blade. ^_^; As you can see, I am over joyed ^^; heh..

I might even cosplay as Cloud now ^_^;; but not till I'm done making my lum and Nakoruru outfits to cosplay in.

Unreal Championship.
This game is the major reason I'm getting an XBOX. I'm already playing UT on my PC, but I've got to tone down the graphics/sound to make the game playable (yes, my PC is ancient.....nevertheless, it can play UT with 10 bots).

It won't be long before Doom hits the XBOX after it's released.
Also, a third party is bound to either market a keyboard & mouse for the XBOX or make a USB hub that will fit into the controller port (YES!).

If, on November 8, computer hardware prices drop please let me know. I would like to get a PC for $500 that equals the XBOX.

The GeForce 3 chip alone costs $300.
