Best deal thread on Mario Kart for GBA
Since Mario Kart is schedule to ship on Monday, stores should start getting it in stock around Tuesday or Wednesday. So far from what I've found, these are the sales going on so far:
K-Mart - $24.99
Target - $25.88
Circuit City - $27.99
Best Buy - $29.99
Keep in mind that the MSRP is $34.99 on this one instead of $29.99 like other Nintendi first party titles. Fry's Electronics should have it on sale, but I have yet to see an ad listing it yet. Probably will on Monday or Tuesday.
Now here's something I have a question on. I plan on getting possibly four copies of the game. Does anyone have an idea if there might be even a better deal than buying four copies at K-Mart with their sale price? Maybe some sort of sale/coupon combination or some sort. Any help would be appreciated.

So you might want to check a few reviews or articles before wasting $ on 4 copies. Hopefully, that feature hasn't been dropped.

The feature is limited. You get to select only one character, and a few tracks and don't have access to all the modes. To unlock the full multiplayer mode, you need multiple carts. Some games do take advantage of the link up with one cart, but it really is different on each game with how much of the multiplayer mode you get to play. F-Zero was the worst with one car and one track. Stuff like Chu Chu Rocket and Bomberman though give you full multiplayer access with one cart.

Regarding linking with others...
From IGN
"The game will utilize the system's "download" link play, in which only one cartridge is needed to play against three other systems. This feature will be similar to the mode used in F-Zero where it's only a single track and same vehicle competitions -- if you want to play an unabridged Mario Kart with friends, each player will need a copy of the game. well, i was in k-mart to pick up Zelda:Ages, and i was going back and forth with myself on whether or not i should pick up mario kart... finally decided not to go with it, as seasons/ages will be keeping me busy for *quite* some time, and i don't really see myself itching for a game of mario kart during that time..
don't get me wrong, it looks great.. and k-mart's price prolly won't be beat anytime soon... but $$ is a little tight right now, and TLOZ:Ages was definitely top priority...
just thought i'd share..

i believe that the best buy coupon found in nintendo power has not expired yet. it is five dollars off any video game or accessory (excluding hardware) over 19.99 and you can get up to three for a total savings of 15.00 dollars. so....take the kmart ad. price match it at best buy and bingo up to three mario karts for 20$ a piece. i believe the coupon expires at the end of august
