Early Impressions of Madden 2002
Picked up my Madden 2002 for PS2 tonight and just finished checking it out. The AI is greatly improved from 2001, which is certainly good news. I had read that the defensive AI was improved, but I was pleasantly surprised by the AI offense. Passes are actually spread around the field, as opposed to 25 passes thrown at WR1. If that wasn't enough, they've addressed my biggest pet peeve from 2001: onside kicks. If you touch an onside kick before ten yards, it's now a penalty. Same thing with kicking off out of bounds.
Some things never change, though. The graphics are still first rate, and the commentary by Madden/Summerall has already begun to annoy me (Horn makes the catch......out of bounds).
All in all, a great game. I know what I'll be doing all week.
