IT IS SOOO GOOD. The slow-mo thing works very well. What I really love though, are the little things. The atmosphere they create is the first time I've felt like I was truly playing a gritty movie come to life. The New York winter setting could pass for a Seagal movie, a Punisher comic, or HK action. You can go crazy with the slow-mo and imagine you're playing replacement killers (the stylish leather jacket and double pistols really helps to replicate TRK). Don't use the slow-mo and it feels like you're playing a 'early police era' Seagal flick like in Above the Law. Blasting away goombahs with brutal sounding shotguns in gritty city areas. Or like the shootout in Heat. This game kicks ass!!!

I can imagine a LOT of great possible move-based mods you could make with this!

P3-733, Voodoo3 16MB, 128MB RAM. You do not need a super computer to run it well.

I too think its a pretty sweet game, although 'bullet time' in words sounds like a cheesy thing to add to a game, it sure plays out pretty well.

It certainly gives you an edge in some of those sequences where the music changes and is just screaming 'activate bullet time'.

The graphics seem to be a little bit of a disappointment from some of the earlier screenshots I saw, but it is still easily on par with today's standard.

Only complaint is the AI is a little dumb sometimes and the story is a little overdramatic. You can tell its trying a little too hard to be descriptive.

Other than that its a fairly enjoyable game

I've heard it has between 7 and 15 hours of game play, which is less than I wanted, though it does have a great editor so new missions should come out soon. Can anyone testify to this?

Anyone know if it'll run smooth on a P3 450 with 192 MB RAM, and a TNT2 32mb?

Maybe in god mode...

I've played this game for 30+ hours and loved every minute of it. Some of the situations are pretty difficult and require multiple attempts and good luck to get it right.

I haven't been this happy with a game since Half Life...$40 WELL spent, in my opinion.

As soon as I read this post I ran out and picked it up - it's installing now

Where did you find it for 40 bucks? It was 50 at everywhere I called (frys, best buy, EB, CompUSA)

I finished it in about 10 hours. I do want to play it again though, if that's worth anything.

Another cool bit: Sometimes your bullet time will run out JUST as you've finished off all the baddies, resulting in an awesome Matrix/Charlie'sAngels effect. Eg, The gunblast lifts him out of the air in slow-mo, there's a pregnant pause, then BAM! the bullet time finishes and he hits the ground at full speed while you simultaneously eject your clips. SOOO stylish.

And I've played few games that could match the exhiliration of using twin beretts to fluidly blasting away a room of machine-gun-armed thugs without getting a scratch.

This game is TAILOR-MADE for Hard-Boiled and The Killer mods! They've even programmed that trademark John Woo 'heavy debris' effect where each bullet hit causes tons of debris to go flying in every direction.

I paid 49 bucks at best buy - oh well.. perhaps there will be an ad on sunday that will have a different price and I can take back my receipt etc...

Wow- I played it a bit before going to the movies. Holy crap - it's awesome. I've been waiting for this game since it was announced almost 4 or 5 years ago I think. This game has been a long time in the making. This was conceived shortly after Prey was (another 3DRealms idea that they scrapped finally after working on it for nearly 2 years). It's so much cooler than I could've ever imagined. I'm amazed they got the bullet time thing right. Wow.

It doesn't say, but I'm sure if you bring it into a Best Buy or Circuit City to pricematch within the week, they won't care.

Finished the game- that was short. It was only 1/3 as long as it should've been. Plus - now that I think of it - all it had going for it was the bullet time... The comic book style for cut scenes were cool, but I think it was kinda lazy on their part. Also - there were alot of things you couldn't do in this game that you can do in other games of this nature... I just thought it seemed like it should've come out like in 99 or 2000, but coming out in the middle of '01 it should have alot more cool stuff in it. I waited a long time for this - longer than for Daikatana (which was sucky). I enjoyed it alot, but I think once the novelty wears off around the third act, the game is lacking in many areas. Deus Ex was probably more entertaining. Heck - Soldier of Fortune was more advanced than this. I like the bullet time thing and all - but it's like that's all they've really accomplished and I don't think it's quite worth my 49 bucks. I'm going to price match it tomorrow.

This sound like a great buy when it gets a little cheaper.

Thanks.

That's what I've heard about it. Yeah, I think I'll wait until it hits the $20 price point before buying.

I play it like this F5 F9 F5 F9 F5 F9 F5 F9 F5 F9 F5 F9 F5 F9 F5 F9

What will really make this game (or at least the engine) shine are the mods...
