Hmmm... At $31, I might just get one a' those suckers; any reason the deal can't be posted here? If not, I'd love if someone could drop me a line on where such a price can be had.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Regarding the cheap wheels. Just read over at Anandtech that they are selling the PC version of the logitech wheel at Ubid. And they go for around $30 bucks. However, they are refurbs. Nice price but, I don't think I would take a chance.

well i was actually going to go out and finally get me a ps2 with gt3 but after reading there is no way of turning down the music well it's just going to have to wait.
i for one like playing with just a whisper of music in the backgound so i can hear the rev's of the motor so i know when it's time to shift. (i always play with manual shift)
has anyone tried the v3 wheel for psx with gt3, i like this wheel as i use the upper left and upper right red buttons to shift.

Most of the time you do hear a whisper of music in the background
. You can totally hear the motor going, that is not the problem. The problem for most of us is that the music for the most part is too soft or you can't hear it.

well, to offer a counterpoint, i don't like music in the background at all. i turn it off during racing (but on during the rest of the time). i prefer to hear the engine, etc.

With regards to the wheel, I find that it makes the game a lot more fun. Having real force feedback is a huge plus in my opinion and it actually helps add to the gameplay in some situations. Rally is probably where the wheel shines and also a good example of how it enhances the gameplay since you can feel when your car is sliding and when it has a grip.
McHawkson: The problem before though is that GT1 and GT2 never supported a wheel. So basically you were buying a third party wheel that wasn't supported by Sony that was emulating the dual shock controller. This time around Polyphony has actually designed the game around the wheel and in a way made dual shock a secondary controller. The wheel is officially supported by Sony and most games that could use it will be supporting it in the future. So it's a world of a difference here. You can read in several interviews with Kaz Yamauchi how he highly recommends the wheel because that is what the game was designed around.
Aghama and others about car damage: If you're picky enough about car damage, play with tire damage on and you'll be penalized by making such hits. While it's not the perfect solution, it does at least give you a penalty to try and avoid taking cheap shots at the other cars.

well i finally got it, my ps2 w/twisted metal black & gt3.
my biggest gripe with gt3 and any racing game for that matter are the different types of viewing angles during play, only 2!, whats up with that, and why have'nt they gotton the in car view right yet?
why can't i get a view where i see the top of the the hood, like in test drive lemans or test drive v rally, when was the last time you got behind the wheel of your car and only saw road?
well at least it's not a bumper cam view which is totally useless except for replays.
other than that i'm getting blown away buy the visuals in this masterpiece of a game.

I am really enjoying the Rally mode. I got my rally license last night and have been tearing up those tracks.
This is where the GT wheel really shines. Aside from the view angle options and the music volume control, this game is perfect.

This game is amazing! I have been a Gran Turismo fanatic since the Japanese release of Gran Turismo 1.
I couldn't afford a PS2 by myself, so a friend and I are splitting one. We have been playing as much as possible and are finally starting to get somewhere.
I have mostly been using the Honda Integra Type R 98 spec (J) so far. It has 438 horsepower and every part and mod you can buy. I love that car!
