You know, you spend hours and hours playing and the pay off of the ending is worth CRAP! what video games to you had crappy endings? Mine? well i just suffered one...
Half-life: Opposing forces.
I loved the first one, great ending you make the choice given by the man in the suit. but in this one, you are phucked plain and simple not a decent ending. was not worth the pay off.
so what games had crappy endings to you.

You know I give props anytime I can to this series. But it, in my opinion has the worst ending for a videogame of all time. NO ENDING. ONce you complete all your missions. They show the end of the mission movie (Which they do for all 7 missions) and then take the player back to the Main Menu in the barracks. No Credits role. No Completed Assignment movie whasoever. I was horribly disatisified.
The only bad part about this series.

Jack, can you tell me what happens at the end of Half-Life in more detail (i.e. "spoilers")? I could never beat the final boss (well, I assume it was the final boss) at the end of Half-Life. After several months, I wiped the game from my hard drive. I always wondered who the suited man was, and now that I hear he's a part of the ending, I've got to know what happens!
Thanks,
Thanks,

man i cant remember a good ending since Street Fighter 2. Maybe it's because games look so good now, seeing an ending is just like another cut scene. I liked Street fighters because the stories intertwined and there were a ton of possible endings and bonuses depending on how you beat it.

its been a while since i past the original Half-life, i wiped it out of my hard drive months ago for an upgrade on my machine and when i re-installed it, i didn't bother going at it again. well here is what i can remember
now for Opposing forces. once you beat the last boss, which was fairly simple the room starts to
notice how in the first one, you are a new professor who has the choice to become one of them in the end and your name is FREEMAN.
in opposing forces, you are part of a miltary uniform, and named SHEPARD.

I HATED THIS ENDING!!!!
I rarely play games all the way through, lack of time, lack of patience....whatever.
This ending was SUCH a BIG let down

The games mentioned previously are mostly fighting games or shooters, which don't have good endings in general. How about strategy/RPG crap endings?
I loved this game, it was incredibly fun, but the ending sucked .... Chrono Cross (I beat it the right way btw)

The thing you're missing is that there are (I think) 8 or 9 different endings for the game.... that ending is only for the first time you play through it.

Basically, there are 8 or 9 (I forget) endings, depending on which point you end the game.
To get the "best" ending, you've gotta go and face the last boss right at the beginning.... which means you need to have played through 3 or 4 times to get Serge real powerful. I've got a list of the various points and endings somewhere around here.....

For me, one of the biggest letdowns I ever had was playing the original Hardball! back in 1987. I actually pitched a no-hitter, which was quite hard and nerve-racking to do! I remember that it took me almost twice as long than if I had been playing the game normally under any circumstance because I was very carefully deliberating on what pitches to use, whether to intentionally walk a batter or not, etc.
So after a lot of sweating and getting the final out in the 9th inning...the game ended. No fanfare, no congratulatory message, nothing! I should've snapped a photo of the final scoreboard.
On the other hand, a game that had a cool "alternate" ending was in Karateka. In the finale, if you approached the girl in attack position, she would deliver a lethal kick to your head. The game was over anyway, but you didn't get to see the happy ending (where the guy kisses the girl).

After you complete the game, you can save it and start at the beginning. Everything remains the same, except you are without your summons, the Mastermune, the Chrono Cross, and you're party is gone (you can later recruit them again, so if you can get new characters going in different paths, go that route). HP and equipment remain the same. The game is the exact same the 2nd time through, meaning you will completely destroy the game with your characters. You get the extra endings by going to Opassa Beach at various times through the game (again, this info's probably available at GameFAQs) and going to face the final boss. Since you are without the Chrono Cross, you have to defeat him the hard way to get the new endings. From what I've read, these endings are strange, but I still want to see them!
