I'm glad he cancelled the show. If this were to go on for another 22 episodes the stunts would get stale and the show would lose a lot of it's appeal. I think he recognized the show thrives off of it's originality and it's much easier to come up with an hour of side-splitting material for an mtv special then to come up with 22 episodes worth of so-so material.

While I would like to see a few more, the quit while youre ahead theory is best. What baffles me is that all the shows rerun now will be edited? What the Hell? Either respect the damn show for what it is and dont cave in to being offensive by editing it, or just dont show it at all.

Where's the grave?.....so I can dance on it.
Perhaps another victory in the battle against the "dumbing down" of society? A battle that is bound to be lost though, I suppose.

everyone was a "hero" dialing up there cell phonesbut the only guy who tried to do anything made it clear that he wasn't gonna do anything
this one was a classic - sad to see the show is gonna be ending so soon

New Jackass episodes?? (or Sledgehammer)
I know Jackass was cancelled, and there haven't been any new episodes since, but after that happened in August, during the MTV Music Video Awards in September, they had a big commercial that said "All-New Episodes of Jackass, Coming Soon". So I thought they had come to an agreement and were going to have new ones again. But still no new episodes. Anyone know anything?
Also, did anyone watch Sledgehammer (not Sledge Hammer!) on VH1? Kind of like Jackass, or at least the parts where they play pranks on the unsuspecting public. That was pretty funny too, but I only saw a couple episodes (I think there were only 5 or 6 made), and now it's not on the schedule anymore. Was that cancelled too?

Yeah, for lack of a better term, Johnny Knoxville "Went Hollywood" (he has a few movies coming out, Big trouble, Men in Black 2, and somehting else) and decided that the whole Jackass thing would grow tired after awhile so they all pretty much agreed to stop while they were ahead. Tom Green did, pretty much, the same thing, and they, like him, are just going to focus on doing a few Jackass specials. Apparently they have been filming a movie; last I heard they were in Austrialia with Steve "The Crocodile Hunter" Irwin doing stuff with him, I guess, for their movie.

Knoxville said in an interview that MTV basically treated them like crap. They never promoted the show, gave them a bad time slot and overall took them for granted even though they were the highest rated show on MTV. Not to mention constant battles with the MTV sensors over what they could and couldnt air. If your looking for a Jackass fix cheeck out Steve O's new video its insane.

The concept of this show worked great for 4-5 minute bits, but a feature film? That might be stretching it a little too far.
It might be pretty good to see what they could do without sensors though.

Here's an article about the show. It only contains a blurb about the upcoming movie, but I thought it might be of interest.

Brad Pitt is on the walk-way. Like going to club, bunch of people around, when a van pulls up and grabs Brad and takes him away in the van. Everybody up in arms.
Another time they ran around in Monkey Suits, in the streets.
