what's the point of turning Stone Cold heel? The guy is basically a heel but gets cheers anyway. They should had turn The Rock as heel. The Rock is a great heel.

Stone cold will ALWAYS get a POP even if he is a heel.. the fans just love him. turning the rock heel would have made much more sense..

but in any case... here is the champion(of post counts)

and no, i'm not a heel.

Best Wrestlemania Ever!

I just got through watching this and must say that I have never seen a better Wrestlemania, and this comes from someone who got part III as their first pay per view!
I think that this was a quintessetial WM, with a little bit of the past, present, and future all involved. Loved the gimmick match and thought Taker vs. HHH was one of the all time greats. As far as Austin going heel, I kind of saw it coming but really thought that this was the wrong time to pull it off. Like everyone said there was no real build up, and despite McMahon's assistance Austin still got a rousing ovation from the crowd, including the one I was with at Hooter's. (Heck, including myself!)
I hope that this sets the stage for an Austin vs. Taker match down the line. Please, no more Austin vs. Rock! In fact, no more Rock as a face period! Austin's a good heel but Rock is much better. Also, I hope Austin doesn't turn against McMahon and start another stupid Austin vs. McMahon angle. It was good the first time around, but you can only tell the same story so many times. I think that with Austin as a heel, HHH is set to become a face. I would love to see him turn against the McMahon family and divorce Stephanie's a$$! The only way for the WWF to improve on this Wrestlemania is to start a WCW vs. WWF angle. If Rock is to stay a face, have him join WCW as Shane's champion, then build up to a big clash between the two leagues at the next years WM.
Also, while I have never bought a wrestling DVD, I will definitely be adding this one to my collection. A kick a$$ ride all the way!

Anyone see the All your bases belong to us sign it was pretty big a redish sign. It was late in the PPV like maybe HHH/undertaker. I laughed and my friend looked at me and I was like never mind he wouldn't understand.

The exact same thing happened to me! I pointed it out to my friend, started explaining what it meant, realized its not worth it, and told him to forget it. It was damn funny though!

This was my first pay-per-view purchase of any sort, and I'm pretty happy.

I actually enjoyed the Benoit\Angle match (I don't really like either of them), and the Undertaker\HHH was my favorite (I've been an Undertaker fan since SS 90 (or was it 91)).

I was rather shocked at the coolness of the Vince\Shane match, though the wife rising from the chair thing was really predictable, and actually have a bit of respect for Shane's "wrestling" skills now (that jump from top rope and accross the ring was quite nice).

I was a bit disappointed in the Rock\Austin match, maybe because I "saw behind the curtain" too much. I saw when Rock dropped the tack to cut himself (when he and the ref tripped over the wire, Rock says "SH!T" and pickes it up just in time to get his head hit by the bell and cut himself), I saw when Stone Cold was cutting himself just before getting hit with the bell (he gets up a bit too bloody as well...), I saw when Stone Cold grabbed the bottle of "blood" and spray himself when down on the outside. I know these things go on all the time, but I didn't like it being so "blatant" in my eyes.

The only bad part of WMX7 was the gimmick battle royal (was pretty pathetic other than seeing a few old favorites), the Jericho\Regal match (he didn't win with the lion tamer!), the 6 man tag, and the Women's championship match. 4 out of 11 isn't too bad.

That is all.

I just got home from Houston and DAMN WAS THAT BADASS!!!!!! That was my first PPV event I have attended live (been to RAW before) and just about all the matches kicked some serious butt. And to top it all off... Motorhed was there to perform HHH theme song.. which freaking ruled!!!! This was easily the best PPV event ever, or at least that I have seen out of the 10 or so years i have been watching!!

Loved the PPV but I have to agree with cartman, they did a really poor job of blading throughout the entire match. At one point Hebner kneels beside the Rock, looks AT the camera, and obviously places something in his hands. At that point, the Rock puts his head down and VOILA he's bleeding.

you don't really think they use a tack to cut themsleves, do you? Their faces are always smeared with "blood" with no wounds. Unless they get cut by accident.

I know HBK had problems with Vince that's why he wasn't there but what do you think looking back on the event was Vince's plan for HBK ? anyone have any ideas ?

I agree the best PPV i have ever seen !

started off not great but from Angle/Benoit onwards just kept getting better and better ! Vince V Shane was great, really had me on the edge of my seat, the TLC 2 match topped TLC one with Rhino, Lita and Spike dudley. HHH V Undertaker showed why the Game is the Game and why the Undertaker has been at the top for a decade and sure there were some faults with Rock V Austin but the boys worked their butts off ! and aside from a few sharpshooters the action was turbo paced ! They deserved the top spots!

Vince, i take my hat off to you mate !

Certainly the best PPV I've seen in a while.

The TLC2 match was jaw dropping..... I didn't think Jeff Hardy would survive the night. That spear by Christian off the 20-foot ladder.... wowie.

Benoit/Angle was great. So was Jericho/Regal, although it was too short and the ending seemed rushed. The Gimmick Battle Royal was hilarious, although there was no crowd reaction (mostly because none of them had started watching wrestling before 1998).

And, the ending was great. Company needed a new top heel (how long has HHH been top heel?). And the destruction of Rock at the end to set up his absence to film Scorpion King.

The moment of the night was the very beginning when Jericho walked out.... the look of awe on his face at the number of people there.

you are correct in asserting that they do not use a tack. what they use is a piece of razor. easily 95 percent of the time, the blood is real, regardless of whether it is "smeared" all over their faces or not. accidental cuts are pretty rare, too. the reason you almost never see "wounds" is because they try to cut themselves right at or above the hairline so as not to ruin their faces with scars. are you a wrestling fan? i have to ask, because i don't know anyone who actually watches wrestling who thinks that the blood is fake. when you watch enough of it, it is obvious that it is real.

Exactly besides the "visible scar" issue, that are has a lot of capillaries very near the skin so a small incision could make a good blood flow and heal very quickly.

man I am so bummed that I missed out on WM... I haven't watched much (if any) wrestling for months. My buddies in Massachusetts have been hooked on it for years, and when I went back to MA for college, Wrestling became my excuse to spend time with them (away from my girlfriend). Prior to like '97 I hadn't been a fan since childhood, really. But I rarely missed Raw, Smackdown, and the PPVs for about 3 years. But since I returned to NYC last June I have had nobody to watch with (my New York friends all look down on it) and no cable. Once in awhile I remember to catch SD on UPN... but for the most part wrestling has just faded out of my life. I remember being really sad that I was missing SS and KOTR... but after that other things in my life started to pick up and, well, it doesn't seem as important anymore. I'll still get to see WM in a week or two, whenever I manage to visit my friends up in Mass, but it ain't the same as watching it live.

Did anyone else catch J.R.'s references to Steve Austin as the "bionic redneck"? Is this some new nickname or a possible storyline?

Ross is just doing his job of trying to get Austin over as a heel.

One the subject of Chyna. I suspect that the womens title will keep up the old pattern of coming and going when its needed. They have some of the best talent in the world like and they dont use it. Jackie is considered to be one of the hardest workers in the WWF. That is why she is still employed. Time to USE her now.
