The Springfield Files is hilarious, love that crossover. The Insanity Peppers where Homer goes on his 'drug trip'. The one where Bart gets a credit card, the one where they tell the story of how Lisa got her Sax. The one with Sherry Bobbins.

I have all the Simpsons on tape, and I've watched them all multiple times, and I have to say the best episode is:
"The Cartridge Family": Season 9, Episode 5
This episode has SO many great lines and scenes.
"If I had my gun, I'd shoot you."
"If I didn't have my gun, the King of England could just waltz right in here and start pushing you around. Is that what you want? Huh? Huh?"
"Guns are for family protection, hunting dangerous and/or delicious animals, and keeping the king of England outta ya face."
"This is the trigger, and this is the part you point at the thing you want to die."
"A gun isn't a weapon, Marge! It's a tool! Like a butcher's knife, an axe, or an alligator!"
"Some punk tried to rob me last night, but luckily I was able to get to my gun and shoot him in the spine. The next place he tries to rob better have a ramp."
"I felt this incredible surge of power, Marge, like God must feel, when he's holding a gun."
Gun store clerk: And this is for shooting down police helicopters.
Homer: I don't need that. Yet.
Gun store clerk reads off Homer's list of various legal, mental, and alcoholic problems after the background check, and he stamps POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS.
Homer: Potentially dangerous!?!
Gun store clerk: Don't worry. This just limits you to three handguns or less.
"This gun cost me everything: my wife, my family. Everything except my precious gun."
I could go on. Some of the quotes aren't perfect, I know, but I can do just about the entire episode from memory.
It's such a perfect episode.

Yeah, i'd have to agree that the "Homer gets a gun" episode would be in my top five, but my personal top three are...
-Homer makes Flanders his best friend.
"You shall be my fourth child, and I will name you Stitch-Face."
-The Santas Little Helper litter of puppies episode.
"Look, Smithers, he's standing up like a little Rory Calhoun."
-Bart gets a Foster Farther, and Homer competes by getting a Foster Son

So many favorites...
but the one that comes to mind right now is:
The Twisted World of Marge Simpson[4F08]
Marge starts the "pretzel wagon" business.. and Homer gets Fats Tony involved..
Highlights:
Disco Stu cameo!
Cletus calling all his kids!
Yakuza versus the Mob fight scene!

Mr. Plow- how can anyone not like that jingle:
"Mr. Plow, that's my name, that name again is Mr. Plow".
A classic line, from when the show was always funny.

"Homer's Phobia", with John Waters.
Maximi, I love the quotes you posted from "The Cartridge Family", but you left out my favorite:
Gun Store Clerk: The law requires a five-day waiting period.
Homer: Five days? But I'm mad now!

What about "Duff Gardens"? That episode has so many great lines in it too. Also the Burn's Casino one is really good too. Personally I thought the one from last weekend where Homer baby-proofs the house was great! By far one of the best of this season.

The lemon tree episode might be my favorite. Monty Burns looking for his bear Bobo was also a classic, and I would have to list the one where Bart and Lisa were taken away by the Department of Social Services and sent to live with the Flanders.
