Transformers once more 'Robots in Disguise' (02/23)
After years of insects, beasts and other Transformers varieties, Hasbro is bringing back its classic "Robots in Disguise" theme in a new series of figures. The car-to-robot-and-back transformations will return, along with a brand-new "Transformers: Robots in Disguise" animated series on Fox Kids in the fall.
Excellent

Am I too old to watch cartoons on Fox Kids? I hope not! They better have that same familiar transforming sound--you know the one I'm talking about. Wow, talk about nostalgia!

If it doesn't have the OG sound...I'm not watching.
All them silly-ass Beast Wars stuff makes me cringe though...I'm not getting my hopes up
Remember playing with the toys and making the sound and trying to transform them as fast as you could?
Optimus was the easiest/fastest to do...dinobots were a pain!!
Ahhhh...memories

Hasbro is simply importing the Transformers 2000: Car Robots line from Japan for the toys and most likely for the new TV show as well; although, all that is confirmed on the TV show is that it will fit with U.S. continuity which means major changes with the Car Robots show or creating an all-new show -- the latter being unlikely.

I've actually owned a few of the Car Robots toys [the Japanese imports] but I sold them when I found out the toys were coming over to America. I had Super Fire Convoy who is being renamed Optimus Prime, God Magnus who is being renamed Ultra Magnus, Mach Alert who is being renamed Prowl, Speed Breaker, and Wild Ride who is being renamed X-Brawn. I also had Build King, a constructicon-like combiner set, and I believe this set will be coming to America as well. God Magnus and Super Fire Convoy also combine to form God Fire Convoy, and this is by far the best Transformer toy ever in my opinion. Here is a good site with Toy Fair coverage on the upcoming Transformers toys
