ultimately spinner type robots will beat hammer type robots all other things being equal

How bout drums vs. spinners? Last night (6/30) had 3 surprisingly quick matches (watching the one spinner cough up its innards was amusing) and one good one (the drum vs. grappler).

Anyone know why Molly McGrath was replaced by Sam Ponder?

I don't think it matters who it is.

She has 5 minutes of screen time.

I wonder why they need 5 people t broadcast this show.

The 2 guys, two different woman and the annoying ring announcer.

Could do without the second ring interviewer woman and the ring announcer.

They need a guest appearance by the "let's get ready to rumble" boxing ring announcer of past fame.

For anyone curious what happened to former co-host Molly McGrath. Here's your answer. She moved to Bristol, Connecticut to work for ESPN. No longer LA based where Battlebots is filmed.

7/21 - couple of upsets - surprised to see how far that Poison Arrow threw Son of Whyachi across the arena.

7/28 - Gotta admit - rake vs. drone was inspired and lots of fun to watch. Bummer that they crammed 4 matches into "also this week" segment. Glad Captain Flapshisjaws is out.

The rake vs drone was hilarious.

That was so awesome. Hate the addition of these drones.

Suprised Yeti took out Minotaur after it demolished Bronco. Tombstone squeaks through 2 bouts and then gets to beat up Yeti (surprised they went blade but I didn't listen to the pre-fight run-up to hear the reason).

Just finished watching the finals. I don't remember hearing them talk about why they were going with the blade. It seemed odd how the announcers talked about it like we knew.

This show is great. I just wish the would show all of the battles and have a little more behind the scenes "garage" time with the teams instead of the puff piece fillers.

I feel Minotaur would have gave a better fight against Tombstone in the final.

Always love the Battle Royale. Biteforce self-righting by running into the screws. Awesome.

Disappointing final. Was rooting for Bombshell after seeing his QF win, taking out the stupid drone and giving their opponent another chance. Then putting his opponent into the gap between the wall and screws for the KO.

I thought Tombstone should have lost in the QF to Beta.

They tried to line up their blade to cut the top bolt off of Tombstone. They guessed wrong on the height and they were done. Short battle. Big mistake though I get their game plan.

There's no doubt that the bots on Battlebots are better than those on the UK Robot Wars (airing the past few months as well in the UK)

But i do like the house robots on the UK show (they are 750kg monsters! )

the bots really are huge, if they had guns added, they would be awesome weapons for terrorism !

Imagine Tombstone's blades wading through a crowd

The last couple of episodes were pretty great. There were some great back and forth matches like Tombstone vs Beta, and some where one bot just went to town like Minotaur vs Bronco. Even though it seemed like Bronco's flipper was never at 100%, Minotaur still did a great job dismantling it wheel by wheel.

So I guess this show isn't coming back. It doesn't appear on the summer schedule that ABC just released.

That sucks.

That's a bummer. I loved this show.
