Survivor has caused a "recent" revolution of these reality shows. Personally i hate survivor and i thinks its dumb and staged but now they are others like Temptation Island, The Mole, Pop Stars etc. I think these shows are ridiculous, whats your take?

Of course they are. I ****ing hate FOX, they leech off of shows that got good ratings, like Survivor with Temptation Island and Who wants to be a millionare with GREED.

Reality TV sucks IMO. It is all fake and stupid. I live near Philly and on the front page of the Inquirer it said that we were the region who watches the most reality TV. I guess I'm an outcast.

I liked the 1st Survivor, Big Brother was mostly sucky, I haven't watched any since then. I think they could be good. I'd like to see a show where they have people alone. Either on an island like in Castaway or in a room or something. Not even have camera people, just have hidden cameras or something. No human contact whatsoever. Just take a few dozen people and isolate them all like this and see how long it takes them before they crack and ask to leave. Whoever lasts longest could win money or whatever. Of course, they couldn't do this, I'm sure there would be legal problems from a show where people get driven insane.

I'm one that enjoys the reality shows. I think it's fun to stop worrying about my own life for a few hours out of the week, and try to figure out if my favorites will win. It's a stress relief time.

I saw the trailer for "Series 7" over the weekend, which is a total satire of reality shows. It's an improvised documentary style movie (a la Blair Witch) of a reality show with guns and stuff. Very cool.

At least the mole doesn't pretend to be a survivor type thing. Nice fancy places, with weird stuff to do, but PERCEPTION is what the determinant of winning is.

The only good 'reality show' ever was the Truman Show. Man, I loved that show. I'll never forget the day he took the step out of the giant bubble.
Haha fooled you, that was really a movie.

Reality shows are excellent. Plus I think of Survivor as more of a game show - that is the mentality you have to go in with to really enjoy it. I love Real World, but it is in no way what I would call a "reality" show - it is basically just a real life soap opera (because that is not the real world for 20-year-olds). Temptation Island is very funny. Finally, last but not least, I get more laughs out of a half-hour episode of "Cops" than I do out of any sitcom on today except for That 70's Show and Sex & the City.
Never saw The Mole nor Big Brother, so I can't comment on those.

Well, having been a watcher of The Real World since like 1994 I am kind of addicted to reality shows. I've yet to see an episode of The Mole and have only watched Survivor once or twice, but I am hopelessly addicted to Temptation Island
