Jeraden 04-06-01 07:25 AM

Another thing is, people have to start thinking of who they want with them in the last round. Jerri was the prime candidate as its unlikely someone would choose her over you. I think Nick would have been the 2nd most desirable person, as he didn't do jack so I don't think people would vote for him just for that fact. So of the people remaining, all are fairly likeable people, so nobody is giving themselves much of an advantage. We don't see all of what goes on behind the scenes, but the 2 that I think most likely to get votes against them from the Council would be Keith/Colby. I can't really see Liz/Roger getting much negative response, and haven't really seen Tina or Amber do anything that would make them not liked. So, I think they would be 'smart' to still get rid of Liz/Roger. It makes no sense for Tina/Keith to get rid of either Amber or Colby before the other 2.

Patman 04-06-01 07:41 AM

Am I the only person who thinks it looks funny for a woman with implants to get so skinny in front of us week after week?

Was Nick so weak that he couldn't put enough water in his bucket to get the fire up and lit? He was the 1st to get his fire going, and to start filling up the water bucket. I guess it was just more Survivor producer editing to make it look like either Nick or Keith was going to win immunity before having uberman Colby pull out the win.
Colby knows he's a marked man, but I wouldn't count him out for making a Kelly-like run to the end. I don't think he's as dim as some people think.

I just hope Tina doesn't get the prize, she really bugs me now.

I can't believe it, Survivor has managed to keep us in suspense even when Ogakor wrestled the advantage away from Kucha 3 weeks ago by booting Jeff off.

Can someone explain Elisabeth and Rodger voting to boot Amber? Tactically, I don't get it. Were they hoping that the Ogakorians hated her for being Jeri's buddy and that their voting for Amber would add to the anti-Amber sentiment in the Ogakor camp? Or was it to sandbag Amber with some votes in the past if there was a tie in the coming weeks?

That's the only thing that makes _some_ sense, although not that much. However, it makes much more sense if you assume an alliance between Elisabeth, Rodger on one side and Tina/Keith on the other. If so, they wouldn't vote against each other, they couldn't vote Colby and they wouldn't vote against their own Nick because they need his vote in the end.

Now, is this alliance a clever thing? I would say no, because Elizabeth and Rodger might get kicked off by T/K/Colby if they hold together. On the other side, if Keith/Tina hold to this alliance, Keith has to win immunity in the final four to avod being kicked off based on previous votes.

So far it looks they don't really think more than one step ahead, which makes for strange decisions...

Sandbagging Amber could be a possibility (if there is a Rog/Liz/Tina/Keith alliance as has been speculated), but I doubt it. Also, it wouldn't make sense to do this if there is such a alliance because at worst, they would be able to vote Amber off 4-2 next week (so they don't have to worry about a tiebreaker). I think they picked Amber in hope that the Ogakors would turn on her like they did on Jerri.

I'm just happy that Amber is still around. The only I really don't want to see win is Colby - he is the most annoying.

Nah, Tina is the most annoying. She's got that accent which, when used to state the obvious, just grates on my nerves. If she gets any skinnier, her boob implants might just explode from the stretching pressure applied by her skin against her chest bones. :)

(I've not liked Tina ever since she turned on Mad Dog).

Same here, except I also don't care for Tina. She's the "holier than thou" homemaker who acts nice but would slit your throat for the million. I mean, she stood on that stump for 10 hours!! She's obsessed with winning it.

Jeraden 04-06-01 10:23 AM

Personally, Colby is the only one I really like on the show and he's the only one I'm really pulling for each week. He seems to be the most intelligent of the group. The only one I can't stand out of the group is Elizabeth... don't know why so many people are so into her.

I too didn't understand the logic in Liz/Roger voting for Amber, as she was the one person they might have had a chance of getting on their side - not anymore. But the explanation above makes sense - T/K/R/E all on the same team.

So assuming those 4 are together, who do you think will be the first to get turned on? It will probably come down to R/E vs. K/T and the person with the most previous votes will go. I'm too lazy to look at the survivor site, how many votes do each of them have?

Gandalf 04-06-01 10:38 AM

I'm also rooting for Colby, but I don't think he has a chance anymore. He should've downplayed his game a bit more.
I agree that he seems the only one with brains in that bunch.

On the hate site Tina gets top spot, followed, probably, by Keith. Her "motivations" when she votes off someone sound sooo fake.

Patman 04-06-01 11:03 AM

"Well Nick, you said you were tired of the game, so buh-bye!" Man, that Tina pisses me off now. But I knew she was the real backstabber from the get go.

I sort of dig Colby because he's doing it the man's way, by being the strongest and fittest. He's conniving, but he also realized that he had to get in on an alliance early on to make it to the final rounds where his fitness would give him a better shot of going on a Kelly-like immunity run towards the finish. Now if they do some lame endurance immunity contest (keeping your hand on the idol) then Tina will most likely win that one because, yes, she is obsessed with the money, but Keith will give her a run for her money. :)

I still don't see this Tina/Keith/Rodger/Elisabeth alliance. I think it's wishful thinking, but I think it's just more conniving from Tina to be hanging out with the Kuchans.

Dubya 04-06-01 11:22 AM

I have to disagree about Colby being smart. Anyone who would utter the line "I may be alot of things, but I sure ain't no chocolate bar!" has to be one of the dumbest human beings on the planet ;)

Well it's not as simple as some people are explaining! (or atleast I hope not!). As you read my above post about a couple of scenarios.
The easy logical reason would be ofcourse hoping that Ogakor would defect and take out Amber like they did Jerri. And have Liz and Roger help out there. HOWEVER...... I think one big fact against that scenario is we didn't see Liz OR Roger explain why they voted Amber. You know the voiceover when they right the names, ofcourse they didn't show us their's. Why Not? If they were hoping for some sort of defection there would have been atleast a minute or two of dialogue between Liz and Rog, if not Liz and even Tina (like last week with Jerri) where Liz EXPLAINS her voting. If this was the case the show could have EASILY been edited to "LOOK" like a strong possibility of Amber getting knocked off. And then at the end show Roger and Liz votes and the reasons, and keep it secret of Tina/Keith etc. for the suprise ending of AMBER not going. However they didn't do this. THey went with the easy straight forward approach and basically all episode you KNEW Nick was going (unless he won immunity). The only other scenario brought up was Amber "switching sides".
I guess I'm just HOPING that the reason Liz and Roger voted for Amber was NOT told to us because it plays a BIGGER part in the future episodes!

Um, hello? Winning the million is why they're out there in the Outback eating bug larvae and wiping their asses with leaves to begin with. If I were playing the game, you can damn well bet I'd come across as being "obsessed" with winning the million. And I would have stood immobile on that stump for much, much longer than that for a shot at a million. She's playing the game very, very well. Like it or not, you HAVE to backstab to win. That's the nature of the game.

I'm totally rooting for Tina. She's definitely in the cat seat at the moment - a total shoo-in for the final 4. And I'm picking her to take it all.

matchpenalty 04-06-01 04:30 PM

Personally, I think a lot of people are in for a surprise next week. I think the final 3 will be Amber, Rodger, and Elisabeth unless an immunity challenge goes the wrong way with 4 left. The early alliance of Keith, Tina and Colby may have just backfired (thanks to the early exit of Jerri). This week will tell the story. The only way to break the alliance is if Amber goes for the jugular and teams up with Rodger and Elisabeth. If amber thinks she is getting near the end without teaming up with the other tribe, she is nuts. If she does team up, the others have to keep her there until almost the end to be safe and take their chances on the last immunity challenge. My gut says they go after Colby because of the votes when the tribes merged. He has more than anyone else with 5 and is a sure fire goner if the others gang up on him unless he gets immunity again.

This weeks immunity challenge will be HUGE for Colby..

Rodger may be the Rudy of this group.. Would love to see him make it to the end. He has had some brass ones (especially the jump/swim early and just having learned to swim)

yecul 04-06-01 05:04 PM

You forget one thing - Amber is stupid. She won't figure it out. If she stays put, she'll be voted off 4th to last. If she changes and goes with R and E, then she would be the 3rd or even the final two if she grabs immunity. But, she's not that bright so things won't change. Liz next. Then Rog, amber, colby/keith (depends on immunity).

Decker 04-07-01 09:09 AM

No doubt, the smart move for Amber is to team with Rodger and Elizabeth. If she does, she's guaranteed to be in the final three. If Colby doesn't win immunity, he's gone via the tiebreaker. If he does, they can vote for keith, who as Amber knows, has already had more votes cast against him than either her or Liz. It's a great position for her, especially because all she has to do is win the final immunity challenge. If she's in the final two, there are more Ogakor than Kucha on the councel and that'll help her. Of course, if she doesn't win that challenge, she's certainly gone.

If I may wax philosophical for a second, how great is it that here we are 10 weeks into the show and we still don't know how even next week is going to turn out. No blown secrets, no depressing elimination week-by-week (a'la Survivor I). At first I was skeptical, but now I'm hooked :)

Same here, I never saw the first season & trashed the show for being mindless & fixed but I've been hooked also although I still think the show is mindless & a little fixed. I retract my early prediction & say Roger is out next week. I just think this flood is going to be too much for him to handle & something happens.

f**k, $hit, mother f**ker, I missed the damn show tonight!!

I missed it too! Although, in my case, its because I forgot to set the clock on my VCR ahead an hour due to DST!!! (...And I had set every other clock I own ahead, just not the VCR). Got home after the ballgame and found out that I had taped C.S.I instead. At least my VCR did get the final words segment at the end of the episode and the video clips and the write-up at the official site at CBS.com helped fill in some of the blanks.

You obviously think there is R/T/E/K alliance. I just don't buy it. I think Elisabeth is gone (since she is more of a threat than Rodger).

Or READS survivorsucks.com message board or one of others.
That seems to be the general consensus this week.
Early in the week everyone was guessing/spoiling it being COLBY. Then yesterday everyone switching to Amber including the BOSTON HERALD.

yup

If Colby doesn't win immunity, I think he will be gone. Otherwise, it'll be Elisabeth (sob).

It doesn't take a RTEK alliance for Colby to get voted out. All it would take is Amber voting with Liz and Rodger. Colby loses tiebreakers with everyone.
