The idea of old TV stars in a parody of "Survivor" is decent, but they haven't done anything with it. Gary Coleman eating Spam? Florence Henderson sitting in whipped cream? Very poorly executed. I don't watch Conan much, but I've been a Letterman fan for a long time.

The sad thing about Leno is that he was actually pretty funny in his once a week Tuesday fill-ins for Johnny during the late 80's and early 90's. When he took over as host, he just completely sucked. It doesn't matter though, Dave always has been the man.

yes! glad I'm not alone here.

And while I do think Leno sucks, I think he is funnier than the writing allows him to be. The writers for the show just suck butt.

I agree with the Leno bashers on this one. He seems a bit self-indulgent and not very funny. A bit insulting to the watching public, really. IMHO.

I'm glad to know some people agree with me on that fact. All my friends watch Leno, and I've given up on trying to get them to switch to Letterman. I just don't think leno is funny at all.

I still can't comprehend how Leno's show, being the worst of them all, is by far the most popular. I mean, people do know the Tonight Show switched hosts several years ago, right?

Conan is the best. Leno is ok. Letterman should learn to shut up.

Conan is good. Leno is the worst host I've ever seen... honestly... ever. Kilbourne (sp?) is bad, very bad - but compared to Leno he's a comedic genious!

Letterman is the funniest host of any show in the history of, well, shows.

'Nuff said.

Jon

Yeah, most of my friends watch Leno too

Did you ever see how Letterman handled the takeover of RCA by GE in his NBC days? [The letters GE replacing RCA on top of the RCA building in Rockefeller Plaza is a disgusting sight. I used to spend a lot of time in that building, and my parents met there, but I digress.]

He ridiculed the new owners in Michael Moore style (except Letterman was funny) to the point of getting thrown out of the corporate headquarters, and he showed it over and over on his show. GE had no love for him and considered him a loose cannon.

Basically Leno is a puppet and Letterman is his own man.

I never stay up to watch any of that crap anymore. I am so addicted to dvds, that I come home from work, and watch 2 maybe 3 at the most and then hit the hay, I rarely even watch regular old television programs

Does anyone miss Arsenio Hall?

I hate both talk shows unless my favorite singers are going to appear. I usually watch Nightline, M*A*S*H, or something on Direct TV. But I do miss Arsenio and the Dogg Pound. WOOF, WOOF, WOOF!

Funny, I was just gonna post how bad Leno has been the past two weeks. I have laughed three times in the past two weeks from watching his show. Mostly from Headlines and JayWalking...sad....really

How can Leno beat Triumph the insult comic dog going to the Westminister dog show or guesting on Hollywood Squares? Jay walking used to be funny, no more. Letterman is great when he does that mike and earphone bit with Rupert G the delli guy.

I used to really enjoy watching Leno as a guest on Letterman with his "What's My Beef?" routines. I'e always been a fan of Dave's and was in the audience for his very first NBC show. I got on camera but it was only a "test" show and has never aired. Bummer.

I will only watch the Tonight Show when there's a guest I "really" want to see.

Craiger's vs Conan? I always found Conan funnier but I'll watch Craig if the guest line-up is better.

Triumph on Hollywood Squares uncut was the funniest thing I have ever seen. Seriously, some of the stuff I was amazed that even at 12:30 the would air it.

I wish that was up somewhere to watch.....hilarious. This years Westminster piece wasn't as funny though.

But yeah, Leno's not so bad, he's just reaching to such a broad demographic that only some jokes hit with your "demo."
I don't mind so much.

Leno is what middle America wants unfortunately and that's apparently what NBC is after. I find the guy completely unfunny in every way.

As a middle American, I'm offended by this comment.

While there are obviously exceptions to the rule such as yourself, your average person in the middle of the country in the middle age bracket watches Leno for some reason. That and old people love falling asleep to it now that the weather channel no longer plays elevator music

Letterman used to be great back in the '80s, but he kinda sucks now too. It's almost painful to watch him.
Letterman would give credit when he did something that had done before by someone else. He credited Stern and Carson and he still does things like have the Piedmont bird callers come on the show, which Carson used to do. It's a tribute to Carson and not stealing.

Leno acts like he came up with the things he's stolen and he's never done them better either.

Letterman is the King of late night, Ferguson is the the best, and Conan is somewhere between the two, but a lot depends on what happens with his new show on TBS.
