Michael Crichton's wife is suing WB saying this is an unauthorized reboot of ER:

Is anyone left from St. Elsewhere? They should sue Crichton's estate.

I loved ER and this has some of the cast and creative team from ER. I'll definitely be watching.

ER is one of my favorite shows ever so I’ll totally check this out.
I’ll reserve judgement on Crichton’s lawsuit after I watch the show but on its surface it’s pretty humorous to sue a show for being too similar to a medical show that’s had dozens upon dozens of similar premise shows. Even with all the variety of great drama series on cable and streaming services today, the big three networks STILL can’t get away from cops, lawyers, and doctors.

At a glance sure, but read about her claims. It's the cast, crew and producers of ER that spent 2 years developing a reboot. That falls apart and suddenly they have a "new" show a few months after that 2 years of development? Doesnt sound on the up-and-up and not a stretch for Hollywood to pull.
I loved ER and it would have been cool to see Carter again with potential alum popping up.

It's like Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon. Of course he recycled ideas from his Star Wars project, but it's not Star Wars.

Obviousley they just reshifted from an ER reboot to The Pitt, but in my opinion they changed enough. No one will confuse The Pitt with ER. George Clooney actually worked on a show called E/R and no one was confused 10 years later, when he was the one of the stars of ER.

It would have been cool of this was Wyle's character from ER years later.
That I would have been on board with. Not sure I like the 15 hours straight thing...

So this is not about the Image Comics character from the 90s?

They did negotiate, but couldn't reach a deal. I'm pretty sure that Wyle and Wells would have preferred the ER IP, instead of having to establish a new brand.

If you're expecting anything like ER, you'll be disappointed.
Very slow and talky.

I've read here and by a critic the show would be slow. I liked the pacing and it didn't feel slow to me. The concept of "24" in an ER could work, but makes character development pretty difficult if there will be future seasons.

I like it. I've always liked Noah Wyle and he plays the grizzled mentor well in this.

I just checked to look up the winners and I have to say network TV was so much better back then. He lost to Ray Walston (Picket Fences) twice, to Hector Elizondo (Chicago Hope), Gordon Clapp (NYPD Blue) and Michael Badalucco (The Practice) and in three of his 5 nominations he was nominated alongside Eriq La Salle, who never won an Emmy either.

First ep was pretty good.
We'll be watching the rest.
Oddly we couldn't get the second ep to play past about 7 minutes.
Froze there and even after restarting the Atv4K a few times we gave up.
