Glad to see this won the Emmy along with some of the key actors. Well deserved indeed.

Wrapped up season 1. Incredible show with so many emotions. Incredible acting by Wyle and LaNasa. And some good young supporting actors as well. Shawn Hatosy was a really good guest star in his brief stint. You really felt how battered and emotional wrecks these doctors felt after this 15 hour shift. I was sad seeing Jake take his rage about the death of his girlfriend on Robby. That final arc with the shooting victims was some really well done TV. Also incredible work by the makeup and practical effects on these episodes.
Glad I finally got on this after putting it off so long.

Really enjoyed this in as far as you can enjoy something so dire and unreletingly depressing. The older brother and sister watching their dad die just completely wrecked me as it was basically identical to me watching my dad die even down to the specific breaths near the end. But it was sort of devastating to watch and relive my dad dying.
It got close to being unrealisticly dense in terms of the different cases but outside of the shooting many many of the things they dealt with happen every day, They did not go down the foreign object lost in body from sexual activity but they will probably do it next season; I used to be good friends with an ER RN and that happens all the time. They do deal with heart attacks burns electrocutions drownings almost every day.
The cast was uniformly strong with the exception IMO of Dr Collins so not super surprised she is not coming back.
Only unrealistic thing despite the fact that they actual mentioned it all the time is that the waiting time was very compressed but I dont think it hurt the show much especially since they wove it into people waiting in the waiting room.
They left the measles thing hanging a bit but that could become a real issue for the US in a few years with the nonsense about vaccines.
Well deserved wins for the show. Will watch Season 2 but as good as it is medical dramas are sort of hard for me to watch.
