I just watched the clip. That was a temper tantrum? Just seemed like an honest, shocked reaction. Did I miss something? That was one of the worst things? Are you being facetious?

It sucks that Rome is gone. Now there's really no one I'm rooting for...maybe Sue, but honestly no one else stands out for me. I think the only other ones I know the names of are Sol, Andy, Kyle, and Teeny. Hopefully someone will emerge to root for.

I don't like temper tantrums. It's a game. If you're blindsided, then you've been outplayed. I didn't appreciate her poor sportsmanship. As david notes, you never see that sort of reaction any more. Most people can realize that it's just a game.
Check Rome's reaction out. Also totally blindsided and duped, but very respectful as well.

Sure “temper tantrum” is a bit of an exaggeration, but agree with you that her reaction was well outside the norm, to the point that at first I assumed she was faking it for a laugh. Can’t remember the last time an evictee was that hostile towards the evictors. At most I recall some slinking away in brooding silence.

I think people who go on a show like this these days are usually keenly aware of how a temper tantrum at tribal can color the audience perception of them so they hold back.

Rome has to be one of the least self-aware contestents on the show in a long time. Oblivious to the fact that he was annoying and pissing every one off. And actually thought he was running the show up until the end. Seems like a nice enough guy but completely miscalculated how to be successful on Survivor. I was embarrased for him a couple of episodes back when he was following the other guy around and wouldn't leave him be.

How is this season so far compared to the past aside from the 'come-on in guys' being gone?

My wife and I are enjoying the older seasons but the recent ones seem less fun since COVID

I mean, there was Jelinksy last season, but he was gone pretty quick because of it.

Yeah this is a good, competitive season, even without a charismatic “favorite” like Christian or Devins to root for.
Just watched the last episode and that Advantage really mixed up things in an interesting and kinda shocking way. Really enjoying this season so far.

Rachel playing her shot in the dark despite getting no votes was a brilliant move. She had a gut feeling she was out of the loop on the vote. and her tribes reaction to the SITD let her know the vote was not being directed at her so it essentially saved her from using her hidden immunity idol. First time someone's used that shot twist like that before

Agreed, she and Sol seem to be the only intelligent people playing this season. The rest of these clowns are typical 20 year old flakes who are just happy to be there (oh my God, I can't believe I'm here doing the Survivor Auction!) and Andy is their king.

Unfortunately in this game, the most intelligent players don't always win. At least some of the other women have realized that Rachel is a threat because of how strategic she is.

Maybe it's because I haven't watched a complete season in a long while but every week is a blindside, it's been pretty awesome.

At least the right person won this season. For a minute there I thought it might actually go to Sam who did nothing all season, was mediocre at challenges and anything physical in spite of being labeled 'the jock' and built hardly any social alliances. Kudos to him for finally getting his fire to burn. Im sure his Dad is proud. Second place also gets a $100k I think?

So sick of Teeny and her 'my whole personality centers around my sexual identity confusion'. You're 23 years old girl. Go eat a girl out. If you like it then be a lesbian and shut up about it. If you don't then force yourself to sleep with men. Jeesh.
Sick of Sue and her tattooed makeup and huge fake tits also. 59 years old? I would have thought she was 79. Smart of Rachel to drag her and Teeny along because there was no way they had a shot against her.

I agree with previous poster, the blindsides this season definitely made it entertaining but I wish they would cast more attractive people. I miss the time jump for the after show too. It was always fun to see everyone cleaned up and at their actual weight.

No word yet on the Sia award? I'm guessing she'll skip giving out this season. No real examples of 'kind' people this season...maybe Caroline?

I thought this season was really good and I’m grateful that CBS got the finale done in 2 hours instead of 3.

Sia stopped giving out the "award" a season or so ago. But who knows if she'll feel moved to start them up again.

Teeny got screwed by the wind so bad with her fire. If she had been sitting in Sam's spot she would've won before he got any flame.

Teeny's gameplay was awful. But I like how she took ownership of her biases (especially against Sam) at the end.

I've never understood why they don't get up to block the wind, unless that's against the rules.

Teeny got "top surgery" a few months ago. I guess she considers herself to be non-binary now and everyone in the Survivor community seems to use they/them/their when talking about Teeny.

Yeah, she (they?) did. Seemed like this season on Survivor, wind was what bad taxi drivers are on Amazing Race.

I was watching that big flame she had they had get flattened by the wind, and at one point, I thought it was going to light Sam's string on fire.

But Rachel had it in the bag, so all Teeny lost out on was a little less consolation money.

Oh Lord, Probst must have shit a brick when he found out. Why couldn't we have had her on AFTER top surgery? Or maybe he's already got her on speed dial to get back to return to play again as 'Tony'? Teeny Tony?
I fully support adults (not kids) who know they are trans but the whole 'they/them' thing is too much for me. Hard enough just to remember someone's name some days...

With so many companies bending the knee to Trump and ditching DEI, I wonder if CBS will eventually cave so we can go back to old school casting...I can dream, I guess....

Re: Survivor 47 - Premieres 9/18/24

Even before their the post 2020 initiative with castings from season 41 onward, the 30's season were pretty divers. The casting pool in any given season is mostly people in their 20s and 30's, and the under 40 and under 30 population of the country is increasingly more diverse then previous generations. One change I would push for is more diversity in player backgrounds, feels like half the cast had some sort of IT or Media job
