The State Farm commercial with Arnold and Danny Devito was lame. The joke of making fun of his accent is so played out from like 40 years ago.

It seemed every ad used a celebrity and more so in previous years.
Dan Marino was almost in every ad.

That Dunkin Donuts commercial was awful,they could have saved a few millions just replaying the Pacino ad instead of hiring Tim brady,j lo and the good will hunting guys.

People are dumbasses. The ad does not make fun of the allergy; it makes fun of forgetfulness. The ad is one of a series where people are ridiculously forgetful. One features "Friends" co-stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer forgetting they were on a TV show together.
I have no fucking idea what is with peanut allergy sufferers that they are so insufferable.

I don't know if it was a local ad or something but Temu ads were all over the place and they all seemed the same. Did they just spend a ton of money?
I can get posting a snippet of a trailer and luring people to youtube to see more. Get your teaser out there and then lead them somewhere else for the full blown trailer. But you have to have some kind of draw, some of these "go to our website" ads just went way over my head as far as who would be that interested that wasn't interested in the brand before?

I'll throw this in here.
::Walken commercial comes on::
Wife: Isn't he dead?!
Me: Who Christopher Walken?? I don't think so.
Wife: Oh, I thought it was Ray Liotta.
Me:
::Anthony Hopkins commercial comes on::
Wife: He's in another commercial?
Me: Who?
Wife: Christopher Walken...
Me: No, that's Hannibal Lecter (I can't ever remember his name, and I don't use Uber eats)
::Carl Weathers commercial ends::
Wife: ...
Me: ??? Nothing? That was your chance.
I liked the DunKing; State Farm and Momoa. I really like Levy, but the home.coms weren't that great.
Tom Brady was in a lot of them too.
Disappointed in the Temu ads. Where is all of the totally random crap I see on their internet ads? I don't think I saw any of that stuff in the commercial in one of their ads online.

The home.com ones were clever but not particularly funny for the most part, especially considering the talent on hand. However they DID do a decent job of making me remember what homes.com is supposed to be doing.
The temu ads were baffling (since it seems they were national) since they looked so generic but must have cost a ton of money just to air multiple times.
The RFK one... well ok.
I was surprised that "He gets us" aired multiple ads as well. I mean I knew especially the washing feet ad would be polarizing but I thought the message was good (instead of hating, love and serve) but the people who would even supposedly understand what washing feet really meant of course took the wrong approach to it. What's baffling to me is that I thought this group was behind funding things like anti abortion laws?

If you have diabetes and forget to use your insulin, that is NOT the same thing as what was depicted with the peanut allergy. A correct comparison would be a diabetic eating a bowl of sugar.
As for what is "regularly" joked about. I'll just point out that we just passed the 50th anniversary of the release of Blazing Saddles, which was marked by people lamenting that those hilarious jokes would never be included in a movie made today.
People just need to get over themselves. If you have a particular life situation that leads to you being offended instead of amused by a joke, then suck it up and get on with your life.
25 years ago my brother passed away after a long battle with cancer. There was a period of time when any just about any mention of cancer on TV brought tears to my eyes. I guess I should have launched letter writing campaign to make ER and Scrubs stop having patients with cancer in their storylines.

The car accident analogy would be someone forgetting how to drive and getting into a horrific accident. I don't have a dog in this fight (and I'm not particularly offended), but I can see people being ok with peanut allergies being shown in ER and not peanut allergies being made fun of on a sitcom or something. Also I'd be on the same page if they were offended just by normal people eating peanuts.

There were some decent commercials. But for the most part, I'm not as interested in the commercials as I was in the past.

not peanut allergies being made fun of
The ad was not making fun of peanut allergies, it was making fun of forgetfulness.
If one wants to claim that the ad was "making fun of" people with peanut allergies, one must concede that it is only making fun of incredibly stupid people with peanut allergies, and if someone wants to identify with that group, so be it.

For me, much like the Super Bowl pre-game hoopla and halftime, I find most of the commercials to be "hit you over the head", overblown and overdone. The Dove commercial I liked because it ran against the grain.

I found the Bud commercial with beer being delivered in a snowstorm very moving because, as an alcoholic, it is important to me that people risk their lives to keep bars stocked with Bud.

Beer commercials are always kind of weird. There's this image of Clydesdales marching through snow pulling a Budwesier wagon to an upbeat musical score, "This Bud's for You!," and cheerful "Less Filling! Tastes Great!" debates among professional athletes, but in reality the target audience for cheap beer is guys who drink too much and beat the shit out of their wives and kids, guys passed out in a ditch, women waking up in a park naked from the waist-down, and shitfaced assholes swerving into the wrong lane and wiping out a family of four.
