Re: Matthew Perry (Friends) Dead at 54 from Apparent Drowning
I watched the doc last night and from memory I believe 3 folks pled guilty and took a plea deal, and one of the docs and the "Queen" of Ketamine did not plead out.
The Queen of K's attorney unfortunately has a point that trying to claim the actual does of K that did Perry in came from her hands is at best hard prove and he feels she should not be charged with being an accessory to Perry's death, however, the cops seem to have busted her on a bunch of other charges so hopefully, she does ooze herself out of ending up in a jail cell.
The other doc's attorney makes it sound like the texts from this doc are not legit because he actually cared about Perry (the alleged communication between this doc and another seems to indicate he was eager to take advantage of Perry for $$$) , but I suspect he will and should end up in the Pokey soon.
The journalist on the doc who said that the worst thing about fame is that basically no one says no to you no matter how bad the decision you are about to make is spot-on. Perry's assistant is indeed someone who administered K to Perry and deserves to be punished, but any assistant of Perry's was going to be screwed, because if they said no they would be out of a job and probably word would spread not to hire this person, so yeah...some celebrity assistant's are damned if they do and damned if they do not.
Perry's death really does show that money does not buy you happiness. The Documentary is not shy about noting that he was pulling in over a million an episode for quite some time, but Perry apparently spent possibly millions of his earnings on checking into rehab type facilities.
A hard watch but I am glad I viewed the Doc as it is a short watch at a bit over an hour long.
