It seemed for this episode they ran the credits longer then they usually do and maybe they are padding the shows with more commercials since it seems like the episodes went by fast the last two episodes that aired,

My local NBC affiliate rarely shows the credits in their entirety. They either play commercials over them, or start the midnight infomercial early. Last night, the last thing I saw was a bumper photo of Woody holding a flower and the band playing over it, then it went right to a commercial for the local news, a bunch of local commercials, and then the paid programming.
That sucks. Luckily my local NBC affilate shows the credits right to the end (including this past Saturday's episode), unless the show is running long.Originally Posted by Josh-da-man

In what I find an odd combination, in Austin, SNL is followed by a religious show.

For those that missed it, here's the end of the show:

In Buffalo it is followed by some kind of religious, self help/motivational show. But the digital subchannel one click away airs Benny Hill reruns, I often watch that after SNL. (oddly this is one of the few times I watch a fair amount of live, over the air television, it's kind of nostagic).Originally Posted by Count Dooku

Pre-pandemic, the 11:30 airing of SNL (I'm on the West coast, and we now get SNL twice; the live broadcast at 8:30, then an 11:30 reairing) was followed by a local music show. They'd interview artists, highlight some recent shows, and usually have at least one or two songs from a recent local concert shown in its entirety. That show went to reruns for a few weeks during the pandemic, then was just dropped entirely, and unfortunately has not resumed.

I wonder if anyone actually gets to keep their 5 timer jacket. I imagine they're just kept in the wardrobe department until they need to use them the next time.

It's just a velvet smoking jacket with the 5 timers monogram. An expensive one costs $200. I think NBC can afford to hand them out for keeps. And I think if you were "in the club" it would make for a cool keepsake.Originally Posted by windom

Before my post was edited by a mod for reasons, I'd proposed that exact scenario; that the Five Timers jackets are a prop they bring out, and that Steve Martin, John Goodman, Alec Baldwin, Justin Timberlake, Elliott Gould, et al, don't each have one hanging in their home closets.Originally Posted by windom

That is weird
I thought First Look hosted by Johnny Bananas was the show that aired all across America after SNL around 1am.
After the live 8:30pm show on the West Coast the 1 hr classic SNL episode airs and then the 11pm news and a repeat of the live show at 11:30pm and then First Look.

Not in Buffalo it doesn't, I've never heard of a "Johnny Bananas".
I'm guessing that NBC affiliates nationwide can program whatever they want in the 1am slot, most probably with paid programming.

Agree, it was horrible. That gay gym skit was cringy and I can't believe Bowen Wang would agree to do it altho a lot of the gay themed skits are typically like this.Originally Posted by jpcamb

Jack White looked great! I was shocked at how healthy and cleaned up he looked. He still had his 'been dead for 3 days' skin tone but he actually looked better than I ever saw him during White Stripes. Maybe he is brushing his teeth now too. Both songs he played are getting heavy airplay on rock stations. His new album is best thing he's done in years but I guess you have to be a fan of his Detroit style acidy rock.
Woody's monologue was the only good thing in the show and it did seem like he was just riffing with cue cards. Good for him. Nice to see a public figure unafraid to say how they really feel without being filtered though 'woke' PC bullshit. I'm no anti-vaxer but I respect his opinion and I agree, its time to lose the masks!
