Not terribly surprising. I didn't see the J. Edgar character as being compelling enough to carry his own show. One spinoff should suffice here, IMO.

Probably for the best. The Bosch Jerry Edgar was almost completely a show creation, and his story lines were frequently uninteresting.

I think they could have made the show interesting, but the premise they had in mind seemed terrible. Too bad. I like seeing Hector in stuff.

It looks like Titus Welliver is guest starring in 1 episode of Ballard.

They would be stupid not to use him to get more attention. I'm especially happy about John Carroll Lynch being in Ballard. He's such an underused actor.

Just curious. I thought Amazon announced that the upcoming season of Bosch would be the end of the series because it had become too expensive to shoot in L.A.. But they can make a new spin-off there?

New characters, lower salaries for actors in a new series.

Understandable, but I recall Titus Welliver saying in an interview that the cast of the current incarnation was willing to continue making the show almost for free. Shooting in L.A. was Amazon's issue. There are still Michael Connelly Bosch stories to be told!
