Not much happened, but the build up to next week seems intense.
I'm guessing that Mon Mothma

Is this really 12 episodes? That would be awesome and unprecedented for a D+ series, but not entirely sure IMDb is always accurate.

I freaking love the title card sequence in beginning. It feels so epic. So different for them and highly effective.

I'm really curious as to how Karn will get back in the game. Next week should be pretty crazy. Every week it feels like it needs to be said that this show looks fantastic and the acting it just so good.

A usual Star Wars show would have had no episode 5 like we saw. Mom and son arguing about Uncle Harlow, Rebels learning to march, Empire garrison slackening off via target practice, enjoying the view, and procrastinating from painting a wall....and a lot of other mundane general chit chat. Andor is taking its time to tell a story and not afraid to explore such content to fully develop its characters, which will make them stand out more in the end, having us know so much about them. Compare to characters in Boba Fett or Obi-Wan where very little development occurs and makes us detached from them.
Also, many interesting sub-layer relationships gradually deepening, like the Mr and Mrs Mothma one. You almost feel like he's going to out her as part of the Rebellion, or try to,.

^^ To your point, not a lot happens but a lot happens. I now care about the secondary heist characters... something I didn't do at all for Book of Boba Fett or Obi Wan.
This show is excellent and feels real and does an amazing job building the tension. Next week I expect all hell to break loose during the heist.
The fly by scenes with the Tie Fighters are awesome. Just awesome.
I pray future SW D+ shows learn from Andor and grow up (Mandalorian being excused from this plea).

I sometimes forget that I am watching a Star Wars show... and that is the best compliment I can give this.

I do wonder what kind of viewership they are getting for these shows. It appears to be well liked by people that watch it but doesn't get the buzz or even the comments here that other Star Wars shows do.

Yeah, I've been bugging some friends to give it a watch. I've had several tell me that after being let down by Boba Fett & Kenobi, they're just not interested in another Star Wars show right now.
Personally, if the quality of storytelling stays at or near the level it's been at, I think this will end up being my favorite of the Star Wars films/series since the OT.

The people who don't like this show, and have decided to quit watching, from comments I've read around the traps, is no flash-bang action, boring.
I felt right from the start that this show would be a culture shock to a section of SW fans who are in it for the easter eggs, references, brand awareness, and throwaway matinee adventure style.
This show reminds of Ozark/Goliath in various ways. Dark brooding mood, lurking undercurrents, entire cast character development, music, general storylines of treachery and complex relationships. A slow build up to an all hell breaking loose outcome. It's SW finally given serious production, a refreshing take on SW,.

The all hell, breaking loose outcome was Rogue One, no?

The Mandalorian shows are great in a Saturday morning cartoon kind of way.(which is fine if it doesn't get too silly) But I really hope Acolyte follows Andor's tone, with perhaps Skeleton Crew coming somewhere in between.

When Luthen pulled down that shelf system with his disguise, I was fully expecting to see a lightsaber and Jedi tunic there, but was glad there wasn’t.
I'm glad this is Jedi-free TV. There are so many good stories to be told without the aid of the Jedi or the Force. Maybe that’s why I loved reading Timothy Zahn’s “Scoundrels.”
I’m in this until the end.

Karn's mom is so overly critical I keep thinking one of these times he's going to let loose on her. What a bitch. Maybe she'll be his motivation to resume his search for Andor... or join him.

Agreed. I think he's going to seek Cassian, only to become a rebel.
I really liked this episode. A "slow burn" episode that got me excited for the raid to come. I watched Rogue One recently and while I love it, it goes so fast, and I like this series and its pace.

This series is like the phantom menace. Too early in the story.
They also picked the most boring character in Rogue One to focus on.
