This show caught me by surprise, between this thread and of course Hulu making it a suggestion that I might want to watch I went ahead and started it up last night. I ended up partway through the third episode before I had to go to sleep. It is surprisingly a pretty decent show and the cast is great. Also, bits of dialogue like the assistant to the showrunners asking which parking space is Reiser's car in and his saying it is the space with the one that has a Bentley in it made me laugh. Judy Greer has long been a fave actress of mine and many others but not just because she looks great (but I admit to saying to myself, wow, Judy is quite gorgeous when she is briefly shown topless). Finally, it dawned on me that Krista Marie Yu is the actress that I enjoyed seeing on Home Improvement and in other parts she has had before this show. She looked different but great on this show, I like her new look.

I will end up finishing this up this week.

ETA: The AV Club review says it premiered with two episodes, so maybe I finished up the second episode and thought I started up the third but actually had to watch something else until the next ep airs.
Another ETA: Someone posted in the comments on the AV Club that it was a 3 ep premiere, so maybe not my imagination that I was partway into watching the 3rd ep before going to sleep, lol!

Looks like Hulu has done it again. For the longest time I didn’t think they had much in the way or original shows, but now it’s like every 6 weeks there is something I really want to see.

The writers room in episode 3 was a great way of showing how nostalgia and current thinking do not mix. The resolution was perfect as was the execution. Yeah, humor has changed but some jokes are timeless.

Episode 1 was funny and kept my interest. I’ll gladly watch more.

When they were listing reboots, they mentioned How I Met Your Father. Sorry, not a reboot. How does Hulu not know their own show is a spinoff?

This was great - I am a huge fan of Rachel Bloom but the whole cast is outstanding. Love how meta it was right from the beginning and everyone is really bringing it.

this show is surprisingly good. I even like the old writers, the lady cracked me up a few times with her one-liners. Interesting premise too. I don't think I ever saw Johnny Knocksville act before and it's nice to see he has some talent as he does some pretty stupid stuff from what I understand.

I really like this show as well. Didn’t take long to click. Just instant spark. Love the dynamic, hilarity and seems like a real behind the scenes of a show. Very good, smart humor. Judy Greer is like the soul of the show. She seems to carry it and everyone else seems secondary around her, but everyone so good and gel so well. Paul Reiser is in everything these days. This, The Boys, Stranger Things. He’s become so good. Way beyond his sitcom roots.

Really funny and most importantly fun show.
