Goat Boy? Seriously? You found that funny??
I admit, the cheerleaders weren't my favorite (I much preferred Ferrell and Oteri on Morning Latte), but jeez they were better than Goat Boy.

The only thing funny about Goat Boy is (actually the episode in question here) where they have Chris Kattan playing David Lee Roth. When he hears Tommy Lee say something about Motley Crue needing a singer, Kattan stands up and starts singing, dancing, and David Lee Roth-attention whoring, which prompts Goat Boy's handlers to zap Roth with their cattle prods.

Maybe they surpassed their quota for hot girls and needed to add a plain girl.

They probably have a lot of Aidy Bryant's old costumes that they want to reuse.

'Saturday Night Live' announces its first nonbinary cast member
Actor and comedian Molly Kearney, who appeared in the Amazon series "A League of Their Own," will join the "SNL" cast for its 48th season.
Actor and comedian Molly Kearney will become the first nonbinary cast member on “Saturday Night Live” in its upcoming 48th season.
Kearney, who is from Cleveland and uses gender-neutral pronouns, has appeared in Amazon's "A League of Their Own" — a remake of the 1992 film that has been a huge hit with queer fans — as Fern Dannely.
“Little meatbrick would freak OUT at this news!” Kearney wrote about their “A League of Their Own” role on Instagram, where their handle is “meatbrickmolly,” in August. “Honored to be apart of @leagueonprime and grateful to have met some super talented people.
Kearney was also in Disney+’s “The Mighty Ducks," and in 2019, they were selected for Comedy Central's "Up Next," an annual showcase of comedians that Comedy Central selects after a nationwide search.”

Molly seems to the be a mix of Aidy Bryant and Chris Farley.

So Bryant, McKinnon, Mooney, Moffat, Davidson, Villasenor and Beck gone in the last 2 seasons. I'm surprised Strong is sticking around.
The cast is getting pretty thin of veterans who put in a lot of stage time.

Chris Redd knows that if he has not "broken through" in five years, then he is not going to be an SNL star, so he wants to pursue other opportunities. COVID put a hold on a lot of things for the last two years, so cast members that would have left during that time stayed because it was a guaranteed job. For example, Redd is a popular touring stand-up, but that revenue source was cut off during COVID. Now the entertainment industry is back up and running full steam, so many cast members are leaving all at once.
She likely realizes that with Kate and Aidy leaving, it just means more opportunity for her to get stage time. Plus, Hollywood has not beat down her door with opportunities at all. And after 10 years at SNL, she might be making 500K a year.

In case anyone is interested, Hulu always had the first five seasons and the last 20 seasons available until this week. The whole SNL archive is gone . . . gone to Peacock, I would suppose.

He will be missed and he could have had a bigger role on the show but he has some projects with Broadway video.
Maybe some of their friends left the show and decided they should leave too
I hope there is not a toxic work environment that we don't know about behind the scenes

According to the people who both love it and hated it, SNL is an intense atmosphere that puts a lot of pressure on performers, so maybe it isn't until it is time to go back to work that people really think about whether they want to commit to another year.

Yeah, there was nothing funny about Goat Boy to me. But I find Jim Breuer unfunny in general.
