I knew he wasn't going to make it since there's no real way to prove he didn't kill Chrissy, that reporter kid, and Patrick. He was doomed the moment Chrissy died. I liked him a lot. He reminded me so much of a friend I had in middle school.
Just saw Jason die. What a way to go...
On a side note, I'm strangely attracted to gun-wielding Nancy. She becomes ten times hotter when she morphs into Sara Conner.

For those talking about the molotov cocktails, I thought the same thing. But then I figured it didn't matter, as it's such a minor point.
I was more annoyed, in Episode 8, that Nancy had to tear off the boards to escape through the door, from Vecna, but that the doors actually opened outwards.

I had one episode left and as I was scrolling through my news feed, some genius decided to post an article titled "Hommage to Eddie Munson" (paraphrasing). I'm like WTF man! Spoilers! That was barely a week after the 2nd batch of episodes dropped, and everyone is supposed to have completely finished this already? That's retarded.
At 2h20m, I'd be curious to know what the budget of that last episode was.
As for Nancy, it takes a lot of suspension of disbelief to believe someone so skinny can transform into Rambo. When they made the "rope" out of sheets to "climb into" the uside down, I went: no way she pulls herself up on her own! Same issue as with "Maddie the cop" on Bosch.

TIL the actor playing Eddie is British. Never would have guessed based on his performance here.

That, and she took the time to tear off one more board than necessary. With how little she is, she could have easily squeezed through sooner.

Here's a kinda long but good official Season 4 Volume 2 aftershow video from Netflix Geeked Week with Felicia Day interviewing first the Duffer Brothers, then some of the actors in different groups, and producer Shawn Levy. It's largely talking about season 4, but there is some not-too-specific discussion of what to expect in season 5.

I don't know if anyone caught this nice moment at a con in England with the Eddie actor. Click the link to watch the tiktok video and the photo of the fan with her guide dog that's referenced in the video.

Stranger Things’ Joseph Quinn praised following Comic Con incident
After the wildly successful debut of Stranger Things Season 4, fans were introduced to Quinn’s misunderstood Eddie Munson. The character struck a chord with audiences and has quickly become a fan-favorite out of the season. As such, the star has been making trips across the world to promote the show while meeting thousands of eager fans. But there was a reported incident during Quinn’s latest appearance that got him in a little hot water with some workers on site.
He had apparently been berated by Comic Con staffers for meeting with fans at an oversold signing session that was running over time, creating a rush. Still, he met with people that showed up, something that one Comic Con goer highlighted the next day.
At his Sunday panel, a fan decided to remind Quinn of the episode in lieu of asking the star a question and brought the actor to tears with their account.
Clips of the interaction went viral online, showing Quinn steadily tearing up while the fan recounted how much their interaction meant to them.
“Aw why’d you do that?” Munson said after the fan’s heartfelt appreciation made the star wipe away some tears at the end.

Finally was able to watch this episode (was waiting to watch it with my son) about a month after everyone else. It was a real PITA trying to avoid spoilers. From what I did hear, I thought that Eddie, Max, and Steve probably did not survive this season. Glad that wasn't totally accurate.
Did Murray's flamethrower run out of fuel after roasting all but one of the monsters? Couldn't he have lit up the last one again so Hopper didn't have to risk his life?
I was wishing they could have used Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell" in there somewhere...maybe when Eddie was fighting all the bats.
I'm guessing Argyle will be living in Hawkins next season. Will he return the pizza van though?

Finally got through watching ST4. I think they really should go to releasing an episode each week. The Mandalorian, Wandavision and others have proved that it really engages the audience a lot more this way. I felt like I could wait and catch up on ST since I knew there was no way I was going to be able to rewatch ST3 and then go into 4 so I took my time with it. If it was a weekly release I would have been more compelled to keep up and talk about it with everyone else.
This season was a mixed bag for me. They did it again where they split everyone off on their own story and only having them get together at the last minute. Very much like how El was separated from the group in ST2. I understand why. There's already such a large cast and it's much easier to follow if they are breaking into groups and doing their own thing. I just really liked it whenever it was the core cast, the 5 kids working together. But I also get how the dynamics have changed and they did a good job showing relationships changing and branching off or combining together. I thought this season was a lot more plot focused and didn't have quite as much character driven storylines as previous seasons. Vecna was front and center from the very beginning. No developing threat and no real break from his attacks. Everything in the season had to do with him. Like everyone else I thought the El and the Russian plot lines were the weakest but at least there was a payoff for each storyline. Seeing Hop take out that Demogorgon was pretty epic. I love how he went for the claws first. I was thinking that's how it kills most people. Everyone focuses on that huge flower petal mouth thing while it's huge reach and claws sink in from the side. It's funny how you guys noticed the strong glass bottles they used for the molotov cocktails and Nancy removing all the boards before going out the outward swinging doors. Although if Vecna was chasing me I don't know if I would have the presence of mind to notice that either. I thought the end was pretty good. It was really shocking to me they broke Max. That was painful to watch. I thought she was safe after her earlier encounter. Her escape from Vecna in episode 4 was probably the best moment of the whole series so far. Sadie really sold her role this season. They asked a lot of her and she delivered. I'm really surprised they just left Hawkins a burning smoking hell hole. From close ups it looked like the fissures were sealed up but that last shot showed that they weren't?
I think the biggest enemy of ST is time. 3 years is just way too long in between ST3 and ST4. It took a long time to get used to how different everyone looked and it really took me out of the moment a lot of times. I thought the time difference was 18 months and thought that was really short then I realized they said 8 months and that was just laughable. Yeah I know pandemic blah blah blah but the Duffer brothers have always taken too long between seasons. At least this season was supersized so they did put that time to good use. And in the end I'd rather they put out a quality product then rushing it. Still it would have been nice if these were put out faster. Really looking forward to ST5 (whenever the hell that's coming out) but also okay with it being the last season. I felt like if they had tweaked it a bit they could have easily had this be the last season.
I wonder what time of year ST5 will take place. My hope is that the story is stretched out for an entire year instead of just a few days in a particular season. That way they can revisit some of Christmas and Halloween. I also hope the Russians are out of it the next season. I really hope Mr. Clarke makes a return but I guess he was their middle school teacher so I guess he's gone.

There was a brief line from Dr. Mad About You that said something about making it go away. Fugitive from the military though I would imagine but I guess the other governmental faction is/will be running interference on their end. I hope that stuff is minimized in ST5. The secret government/lab aspect was only interesting in the first two seasons.

- Really sad that Eddie had to die... but yeah, Eddie kinda had to die.
- Thought maybe Max would have ONE broken arm, but shit she really got messed up! Thought for sure she was dead. Glad she's not.
- Jason's death was perfect. Loved that it was blink and you miss it.
- So Vecna isn't just another foot soldier of the Mind Flayer? Vecna IS the Mind Flayer?
God I love this show. This season went way too fast, even with the extended episodes!

Re: Stranger Things (S4E09) -- "Chapter Nine: The Piggyback"
I'm realizing more and more that I just don't care about the romantic side plots. I really just want all of them resolved, because they don't really sell me on them, especially with the younger kids.
For me, this was the worst season. Or at least it felt the most "designed by the marketing team" and features the most modern-storytelling out of the seasons so far. Maybe I'd tie it with season 2 for my least favorite?
