I liked the series. It was great too see the characters again.
The convo between Vader and Ben also gives some new insight into Luke's "you told me Vader betrayed and murdered my father" to which Ben responds that what he said was true "from a certain point of view"

I'm really surprised just how poorly the show was made. In the first two minutes of the episode, we have Reva somehow healing from being impaled by a lightsaber, getting to Tatooine and questioning a shopkeeper in the same amount of time it took a star destroyer to catch up to a run down transport ship. We then see said transport ship undergoing evasive maneuvers, darting left and right and rolling a bit to evade the star destroyer's cannons, but then it cuts to inside the ship and everyone's just sitting calmly sans any kind of safety restraints and the stars are just flowing by in a straight line out the window. It really felt like a show made by committee with no one being privy to anything other than the tiny little piece they were working on.
Props to most of the actors for doing decent work with generally subpar scripts. Ewan especially did a great job of elevating parts of the material well above where it should've been. I don't think any of the actors deserve criticism for how this turned out, even Moses Ingram, who did solid work with what turned out to be a fairly stupid and useless character.
If they decide to go back to the well on this, hopefully they recruit some better talent in the writing and production teams. I'm a lifelong Star Wars nerd, but really wouldn't be interested in anything else this creative team has to say. I'm glad that at least The Mandolorian has been good, because this series, Boba Fett and The Rise of Skywalker have all been significant disappointments.

This was a good episode outside of the Reva bullshit. It's still shitty that the final episode ends up being the best one -- an almost "put it out of its misery" type of episode.

I enjoyed the finale and the series as a whole, flaws and all. I didn't expect it to radically change things because it's a prequel series, and it didn't, but it checked all the nostalgia boxes. I wish Palpatine and Qui-Gon had been in the series more, but at least they each made an appearance. Both actors had indicated they weren't going to be in it, so I was glad that turned out to be false. I wish they had explained how the Grand Inquisitor and Reva survived being impaled by a lightsaber when Qui-Gon didn't. I guess we're supposed to accept that "revenge does wonders for the will to live" as the reason for the Inquisitors' survival. Qui-Gon wasn't motivated by revenge, so I guess a lightsaber to the gut meant game over for him. I didn't mind the Reva character, but I wish they had explained Reva's end game after learning Owen was hiding Luke on Tatooine. We know she went there to kill Luke, but why? At that point, she was no longer serving Vader, so what would Luke's death have accomplished? Was she still motivated to kill Jedi because she was simply mad at the world? Why not kidnap Luke instead to draw out Obi-Wan, assuming she still wanted to get revenge on Kenobi for failing to protect her and the other younglings.

I’d guess it’s because Qui Gon got a lightsaber through the heart, while the others got it more in the stomach area. And maybe the cauterizing effect helped?

I'm only halfway through the episode, but the fight between Obi-Wan and Vader was great and the ending of it, with Hayden Christiansen in the suit and partially destroyed helmet, was amazing. The voice switching between Vader's and Hayden's, his frighteningly disfigured face...just really well made. One of my favorite SW scenes ever

I watched an Easter egg video by Screen Crush. In it, he said the Grand Inquisitor is an alien with 2 stomachs (don't recall the species). Perhaps Reva was given a mod stomach (like Fennec Shand in The Book of Boba Fett) when she was a youngling?

Strong finish. Enjoyed the series overall, even with some flaws. Better than Boba Fett. Mandalorian still the best though.
Loved the audio mix of Anakin and Darth Vader after the helmet crack.
Little Leia was a nice addition to this series. She was great!

obviously it couldn't have happened due to the established timeline but it really is bullshit that Obi-Wan wouldn't have killed Vader at that moment. there is no reason for him to keep Vader alive with the realization that Anakin is truly gone and really reinforces that Obi-Wan's decisions lead to the deaths of millions of people.

Even though I thought the big fight with Obi-Wan and Vader was predictable, I did think it was very well choreographed and pretty badass in spots.
And yeah Vader/Anakin talking to Obi-Wan after part of his helmet was cut off was pretty cool. Agree pretty cool audio mix going in and out with the voices.

It was OK. Good enough, I guess, but nothing special. Passable entertainment. Fun. Nostalgia beats were all hit.
Thankfully it wasn't as atrociously awful as The Book of Boba Fett, but both seasons of Mandalorian rule the roost for D+ Star Wars.

I started watching the series on Friday night and went through the five episodes by Sunday. Sunday night I saw a friend who had watched the first two episodes and stopped. He was listing off his complaints about upending what was established in A New Hope.
In less than a week, I watched an entire six episode series. I enjoyed watching it. Now I will watch something else.
It was a TV show. Star Wars is a property. I have no demands or high expectations anymore.

I also agree with whoever it was that said this could be trimmed down to a great 2 hour movie. So much unnecessary stuff and characters (*cough* Reva *cough*).

Star Wars jumped the shark years ago and we're all trapped still following it.

I'm really surprised at how much people love the duel here...I thought it was abhorrent. The camerawork alone is the worst I've ever seen. And what's with the above shots looking down?...in one of them you can see the camera stop moving before they edit away! I'm genuinely baffled at the pass folks are eager to give this. Well if that works for ya, good news because I'm sure the beatings will continue!

I wasn't expecting the final episode to be much of anything, and (for me), it wasn't. Just more of the same of characters going through the motions with predictable results while having amped-up Force powers which were not present in the original trilogy. I would have preferred a more down-to-Tatooine Obi-Wan trying to remain in seclusion instead of him gallivanting around different planets and getting into high stake's adventures.
What series is next? Yoda and all of this adventures around the galaxy while he supposedly remains defeated in seclusion?

I'm a fan but I cannot be blind in my fandom - more of the movies are bad than good, and just when we thought we had a rebirth and hope with the new shows....now we have a losing track record with those too. There's still hope ahead...but as another fantasy character said... it's a fool's hope at this point.
