Re: Stranger Things (S4E03) -- "Chapter Three: The Monster and the Superhero"

To me, this is the episode where things started to get moving a little...

Episode thoughts:

--Paul Reiser is back in the first scene!
--I don't like this military guy that visits him.
--I feel like I'm supposed to like Argyle more than I do. He's kind of useless and not really funny.
--Can't believe Jonathan has turned into a pothead.
--Robin and Nancy are kind of funny together. Nancy being annoyed with her and Robin knowing it is great stuff.
--I would watch a show just about Steve and Dustin sitting in a car having conversations.
--Jason is kind of douchey after all. No need to beat up Eddie's friend.
--Lucas is such a pussy. He's beginning to sell out all of his friends for "popularity".
--Paul Reiser as Dr. Sam Owens is awesome.
--My dread for Max is at an all-time high. She's supposedly next. God, that creepy clock just keeps popping up.
--Love the whole Jonathan and Will being protective brothers of Eleven aspect added this season.

I liked the first two a lot, but shit really gets going here.

Surprised about Max, and the stuff with Eleven and Mad About You is gonna get really intense soon.

***Only thing I don’t care for is the Russian storyline. What a waste of what used to be a terrific David Harbour character.

I think the Russian/Hop storyline hopefully will start moving forward more now that things are in place for his escape. I expect the Russian guard to betray him, though.

Glad to see Dr. Owens back in the mix since he still seems to be a good guy. Not sure about this 'program' to restore Eleven's powers. What's he going to do, inject her with midi-chlorians?

Lucas was ultimately loyal to his old friends--he tried to warn Dustin on the walkie, and then he led the jocks on a wild goose chase to Hop's old shack.

Jonathan high at dinner and clueless Joyce was hilarious.

Not sure what's going on with Mike and El. We've seen in the past he's been kind of reluctant to be open about his feelings for her, but this felt different, are they headed for splitsville?

Loved Dustin giving Steve grief about obviously still carrying a torch for Nancy. And Robin picking up on Nancy's hostility toward her because she's perhaps jealous of Robin... Looks like they may be setting the stage for Steve and Nancy to get back together.

I refuse to believe they will kill off Max, let alone in the horrific way that Vecna crushes his victims. No way they do that to a main character. The question is how does she survive?

You referring to the fbi guy? I remember reading that post and trying to remember which episode they buried him in.
