They were shooting Episode 8 at the time.

So yeah, it would be exactly the point that they had to break from filming anyway.
I wonder how organic the mid-season break will feel to the story.

Hopefully something happens this week

something happens every week. whether it's to your satisfaction or not is up to you, but i've found the season just as crisp as the previous ones.

It is expertly made and still engrossing but the fact remains that not a whole lot has happened. Bad BCS is like extremely good anything else.

This show is linked to Breaking Bad in so many ways. But man comparing the first half of the final seasons really highlights the different speeds they move at. Season 5A of Breaking Bad had so much happening. They created a new front with the bug bomb guys. They did a train robbery. Todd killed a little kid. Mike & Jesse quit. The methylamine sale. Walt trained Todd. Walt also got out. Like a literal ton of things happened. So far in BCS Season 6A Nacho died and Gus hid a gun. That's pretty much it.

I love this show regardless of the speed it moves at. It's great stuff. But it does feel like it's killing time in a way Breaking Bad never did in it's final season.

I would take issue with anyone who called Black & Blue "boring" or "filler". But uneventful? I think that's pretty fair. Not a lot happened and it was probably my least favorite episode in at least two seasons.

Kim turning the car around is maybe the most anxiety provoking thing ever on the show.
Lalo lopping off the German guy’s foot was pretty badass. This is not going to end well. Glad at least the widow Margarette is okay.
Giancarlo Esposito did a nice job directing, but wish he would have appeared at least briefly as well.
Did Kim’s mom set her up to be caught in that flashback or did she get called in and played along? Either way, I like that she still had the pony tail and the nervous foot tapping tell back then.

And at this point, you can't help but think this decision is going to be her downfall. Saul was the one thinking rationally and wanting to abort the plan and start anew.

Not really. We established that Kim grew up with a terrible mother in Nebraska in the opening of Wexler vs Goodman (S5, E6). This just confirms it.

And the killer is : Her entire pretense for this play is to get money so she can run her pro-bono defense practice. Here is a golden opportunity to get exactly what she wanted and she bails on it to salvage an unsalvageable scam. It's pretty heartbreaking.

Yeah this is tragic in a poetic way. I've said it before but Kim is this show's Walt. She's not in the pro bono business she's in the empire business. She is addicted to that feeling of getting away with shady stuff. She had the perfect opening to get the fully funded pro bono work she's always wanted. Instead she bails on that to follow through on the scam. With the pretense that she wants the money to do fully funded pro bono work. Again not a lot happening this episode, but it's the music between the notes that makes this show so intriguing. The tense waiting for the inevitable.

Speaking of inevitable... is Howard going to have a bad reaction to whatever they are about to slip into his coffee? That seems to be the direction they are implying here. Will he die and Kim will have to decide to do the jail time or flee? I have a feeling the mid season finale is going to have a hell of a cliff hanger just like Breaking Bad did in the final season.
