Renewed for a 2nd season with a new case
Gyllenhaal will stay as a credited EP. But, Variety has not confirmed if the Rusty character will have a part of season 2 or not.

I’m onto ep 5 right now and this show has been great until episode 5.
I hope it’s not getting dumb and is too many episodes.
Dont care for The Guy from the bar and Jake’s character going to the other guys’ house.
Show is losing me.

Was anyone surprised by what happened at the end of that episode?
I wasn’t.
Been telegraphed the whole series. Was just a matter of when.

I'm about to start episode 7. I think the evidence will all come down to one word:
When she said that and everyone just left it there, it became obvious that is a critical piece of evidence.
Here we go. Witness...

^^ Regarding your spoiler - 100% agree. I caught that verbiage when it was spoken in ep 3 or so... it was a critical moment in the show.

This has been a pretty good show so far. I don't know anything about the source material so it's all fresh to me with nothing to compare to. I hope they at least end it in a way so that we know what happened, rather than just knowing the outcome of the case. Like is often the case with L&O episodes. You see the ruling, but they leave it open on if the person actually was the killer.

They will wrap up the case next week for sure. Next season will be a different case. Rusty may or may not be involved in next year's story, they haven't said yet.

Does the actor playing the more senior prosecutor have a lisp or is that just his American accent? I think he's British? Sounds like Fabian from Archer.

I'm enjoying The Ringer's podcast on this series. I think Bill Simmons nails it with this Tweet.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the Finale? I don't want to ruin it, so behind spoilers here (with discussion of book and movie as well).

I plan to watch the finale tonight. I'm caught up except for the finale.
I'm torn on DEK's take on this story so far. He likes doing things over-the-top when it comes to legal dramas - the collapse of his former boss defending him in trial and the inevitable Rusty defending himself for examples. Pretty
I think Jake did a great job as Rusty. The rest - not so sure about.

I never read the book or saw the movie and even did everything I could to avoid the Wikipedia article on both. I really enjoyed this series and thought it had a satisfying ending. I had my suspicions about the ultimate "Oh, THAT'S what happened!" by the middle of episode 6, and that lingered with me into episode 7 and on. I think my hunch about that key word kinda played a key role, but not too much. That's a nice touch, to have a handful of suspects, motives, leads, pieces of evidence, etc. that you ultimately have the chance to keep guessing until the ending (both endings, the courtroom and epilogue). Yeah, I liked this and it didn't feel drawn out but a good length.
Not sure where they'd take a second season, but certainly this sort of approach to the legal thriller worked for me, and I say that without being a huge legal thriller fan.

I thought this was a terrific show and had the right ending.
Has been decades(?) since I’ve seen the movie so had no memory of that.

This was okay. So drawn out. As I said, Jake was great. The rest - not so much.
The movie and novel are so much better.

I didn't like the Molto characterization in this either. Granted, in the movie, he comes off as more of an idiot.

Ending took us by surprise. Didn't pick up on any subtle clues. Enjoyed this series quite a bit.

Good ending, IMO. The garage scene was acted excellently by both Jake and his wife.
