I can't say I was a huge fan of Louie, but I know he was well respected among his colleagues.
I saw he was hospitalized 3 days ago and now succumbed to his illness. He most have been in really bad shape with the cancer. I know he's dealt with weight problems as well.

It is very often treatable and even curable. It may have spread or been neglected. I have had DLBCL 3 times over the last 15 years as a result of an incurable blood cancer (follicular lymphoma). It is a lifelong fight, but remarkable progress has been made.
If you detect a lump in your armpits groin or stomach, please have it checked out.
As for Louie, he was a fearless talent. RIP
