Re: Tulsa King (Paramount+) - EP: Sheridan, Winter, S: Stallone - premieres 11/13/22

Newest episode from Sunday was great. Dwight's slowly getting into more trouble. I actually like Dwight's relationship with Stacey. She's ATF, but seems to want to actually be a friend to him and not want to see him get into trouble. But, he knows who he is.

Dwight's a smart criminal and I liked how he thought ahead of that FBI raid on the pot shop which caught Bodhi by surprise.

This was only Dana Delany's 2nd appearance in 6 episodes. He role seems pretty small. But, seems like she will be back again next week.

How about Barry Corbin as the bar owner's dad? I think he's only made 2 appearances and they were basically cameos. He's not a cast member, but it might be fun to hear more out of him. Also, Stallone's real life daughter Scarlet plays the coffee shop waitress who he hired to take care of his horse. I suspect she'll end up in the gang or maybe the love interest for the bar owner (or both). I'm really enjoying the show.

Things are getting messy for Dwight. Another pretty dark episode, but I did like the dinner scene with Dwight and Margaret. It did lighten things up.

I wasn't surprised that Roxy got killed since she was Stacey's informant and did a poor job snooping and got caught. That phone call between Stacey and Waltrip was creepy when she tried to check up on Roxy.

Wasn't surprised that Chickie killed his Dad. Just a jealous bitch who thought his Dad liked Dwight more than him. And thank God they got rid of that horrid wig.

I'm about 3-4 eps in and I'm having fun with it. I'm enjoying looking at Stallone as this older man and I'm also enjoying that he is not trying to play an older man trying to be young. He and his character both get they are old dudes(not a bad thing) and just exists in their world.

That said....I was right in that it is very much like a dark version of "My Blue Heaven" but that's ok because I enjoyed that film.

Another great episode. Looks like next week's episode is the season finale.

I thought there were 10 eps. Some sources suck balls, but this week was good ep. Good action. Can’t wait to see what happens. Has this been officially renewed yet ?

I really like the direction this show is going. The “crew” Dwight’s put together is great.

Since taking off his hairpiece, Domenick Lombardozzi has been giving us his best Tony Soprano impersonation.

He's finally getting some respect. Before, he was wearing that godawful wig and those fucked up shirts, trying to look youthful. Now he actually looks like the Kingpin.

Gotta be honest, though I know they are a necessary piece to the Dwight's story and are still in his life...the New York Mob shit is boring and brings the show to a near stop for me. Maybe that aspect will be more interesting when they come out to Tulsa?

Dana Delany is still gorgeous and sexy as fuck.

I’m so confused. How many eps is this? I thought there was a new one this past Sunday. I’m watching 1.8 now and I know I saw it already. I can’t remember or think it’s even possible I watched it Sunday. I know I didn’t see it yesterday.

Interesting... the order was for 10 episodes, which is what is listed on Futon Critic. Stallone even said in an interview that "we did 10 episodes". But I do see some places say it was changed to 9... unless it's a two episode finale?

Just watch through episode 8's credits for next week's preview and it says "in the season finale" -- I though it was 8 or 10, but it's that weird 9 area.

Oh shit that was a wild ending. Dwight vs Waltrip should be an interesting season finale.

I will also kind of agree with Giantrobo, that while the NY story with Chickie and his mob buddies is a necessary part of Dwight’s background. I’m actually kind of tired of it. I want to just see more of Dwight’s antics in Tulsa. I just want Dwight to break Chickie’s neck. I also want a messy love triangle with Dwight, hot foul mouthed Stacey and Margaret. You can totally see they’re both into him.

They should bring the NY stuff to an end, since Tulsa is where the action is happening, but I think this is what's actually the end game of season 1. Cut all ties to NY and make him the Tulsa King.

It's either a two episode finale or they're holding back an episode now that they know for sure they're getting a 2nd season. Episode 10 may have originally been more conclusive than they actually want.

Or just a longer episode. Considering every episode is between 30-35 minutes without credits, maybe episode 9 will be an hour?

Season finale is now up. It's a whopping 36 minutes!! So much for the double episode theory
