Re: SNL General Discussion Thread
He has a movie with Mila Kunis called Goodrich that comes out the day before. I'd put money down there will be a Beetlejuice themed sketch as well.

Re: SNL General Discussion Thread
Speaking of film promotion, I'm kind of surprised that Ariana Grande would host over a month before Wicked comes out.
When will the 50th Anniversary show be? November or February? |

I agree with all of this, but not with your previous assertion that he's a superstar now. He's better known because of his SNL guest appearance, but he's still not a household name.
Is this the first time Michael Keaton has hosted? I doubt it but I can't remember him on the show before. Also : Do you think they will not have any former cast regulars as hosts this season, instead saving them for the 50 Anniversary Special? Will Ferrell has a movie coming out in 2025, so that's a hosting possibility. Now that there podcast has become so popular, Carvey and Spade (or just Carvey) is a possibility. Aidy Bryant left two years ago and has not been back since. |

I thought maybe Glen Powell or Hugh Jackman would host the opener since they had the biggest movies of the Summer and a lot more exciting than Jean Smart who could have been saved for later in the season. |
Re: SNL General Discussion Thread
I know 8 of the 10 G/MGs.
Don't know Jelly Roll or Chappell Roan. I only know Bargatze because I saw him host last year (which didn't impress me) - but nothing else. |

I know I'm biased, and they do have fans, but I really wish the world would stop trying to make Coldplay happen.

Stevie's last SNL appearance - 40 years ago!

Yeah, that's a better way of putting it. I know they had popular songs in the 90s but god they were so toothless and boring. And every time it seems like they're gone for good, they get some appearance like the Super Bowl and now SNL, trying to make them big again.

Lorne Michaels has Nate Bargatze back to host just a year after his first outing. And while his talents as a comedian suggest Bargatze deserves to be back in Studio 8H, it's unusual for Saturday Night Live to bring a host back so quickly. What may have been the norm in the show's early days has become less common thanks to SNL casting such a wide net over hosts. But Bargatze clearly made a strong impression on Lorne Michaels. The SNL boss will executive produce a primetime holiday variety special starring Bargatze later this year. So there's a pretty good reason Michaels wants Bargatze back in front of a national audience in October. The untitled special from Bargatze and Michaels will air on Paramount+ in December. Filming will take place at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. It's expected to have something for everyone and all ages as Bargatze oversees stand-up comedy, sketches an,d musical performances. |

The time between Paul Simon's first appearance and his last is 43 years, but he's had a bunch in-between. |

That does not make any sense -rolleyes- So if you are already famous or a huge star you are barred from hosting SNL? -rolleyes- |

He doesn't need SNL for anything now. You repeatedly post these questions about why this famous person or that famous person isn't hosting SNL. Why do you think all these famous people want to go through it? Everyone who hosts says that even though it is just a one week commitment, it is a lot of work and stressful. A giant star like Hugh Jackman is only going to host SNL if he really wants to host SNL. He does not need the publicity that SNL offers. The big established movie stars that host SNL (like Emma Stone or Tom Hanks) do it because they love it. Some big stars do it because they grew up watching SNL, and so the show means something to them. SNL does not hold any significance to Hugh Jackman. |
Re: SNL General Discussion Thread
He hosted in 2001
