Sources close to the show tell THR that Page was offered an opportunity to return as a guest star in three to five episodes of season two — at a rate of $50,000 an episode — but declined for a multitude of reasons.
Page told Variety that he was drawn to Bridgerton because the role was a "one-season arc" with a "beginning, middle, end" that allowed him to come in, "contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on."
sources say Page is laser focused on his burgeoning film career.

I guess the books focus on other characters, but I would still think he’d be in some episodes or at least have some scenes. I wasn’t hugely invested in the show, but my girlfriend likes it and I watched some with her.

If it were me, I would have agreed to appear in three episodes. Filming three tv episodes is fairly easy and should be easy to schedule if you're working on movies.

I basically agree. This is something his agent should've been able to convince him to do/get him a better deal. Ideally, 2 or 3 episodes for the same amount of money offered for 5. $250K for a small amount of work. He's got roles in two big-budget movies lined up though.

having seen him on SNL I have to wonder if this is a mistake too. He should have made some easy money come back for a few guest shots and kept the fanbase happy. Time will tell if he did the right thing but this seems shortsighted to me.
It reminds me of the people that left Downton Abby for bigger and better things that I have not seen again.

Yeah. It’s a bit of an odd situation. I get that he wants to expand his career, but dropping out of a successful show in hopes of finding something better after only one season is somewhat questionable to me.

Best of luck to him when he comes crawling back in Season 4.

Bring it on, a good mix of smut and drama to keep us interested.

I'm two episodes in and enjoying it so far. My main complaint was that this season's "diamond" looks really, really young, but she's 25 in real life and I'm sure that back in this time period women were being married off in their teens.

I think this was overall a stronger season but just as predictable. I think girls were presented to society at generally 15 or 16 depending on their maturity so if the show was accurate in that it would be seriously cringe. I do like how race is not an issue in the slightest in this show. People are just people. Eloise in my view is really the best character in the show. Was differently less smutty as well but still a lavish soap opera. Daphne's portrayal was completely phoned in. Has to be the best looking show on TV. Definitely not my core genre but will certainly watch future seasons.

My girlfriend and I still haven't watched the second season. It just felt like such an "early pandemic" show that we're not feeling all that excited to get back into it. I'm sure we will eventually.

I finished season 2 tonight and I really liked it. I thought Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey had really good chemistry. The Penny and Eloise fight was really good too. It was two seasons in the making. I’m looking forward to season 3.

Was interesting to see the two youngest Bridgerton kids actually get some dialog this season.

Just watched season 2 and thought it was good, though I preferred season 1 with Daphne. I get how the focus would shift with each season, but she just had a few cameos. I figured Simon had been written out for reasons as discussed up-thread. Sexiness has been dialed back, though that can certainly depend on what happens in the story. It just annoys me when characters have sex with some of their clothes on for no good reason.
The finale could’ve worked as a series finale, but no surprise that it’s been renewed. I wouldn’t mind watching more seasons but feel like it won’t be a huge priority.
