Olyphant is good news! Every time this gets gets bumped, I fear the post will be announcing "CANCELED."

I’ll watch anything with him. Hopefully this erases Prime Evil from our memories.

Noah Hawley‘s “Alien” series at FX has filled out its main cast with six new additions, Variety has learned exclusively.
Babou Ceesay (“Guerrilla,” “Damilola”), Jonathan Ajayi (“Wonder Woman 1984,” “Noughts and Crosses”), Erana James (“Uproar,” “The Wilds”), Lily Newmark (“Pin Cushion,” “Sex Education”), Diêm Camille (“Washington Black,” “Alex Rider 3”), and Adrian Edmondson (“War & Peace,” “A Spy Among Friends”) have all been cast in the series.
They join previously announced cast members Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, David Rysdahl, Samuel Blenkin, and Adarsh Gourav.
Plot and character details are being kept under tight wraps on the project, which was first announced in December 2020. The only detail that has been confirmed is that the show will take place on Earth in the not-too-distant future.
Scripts for the series were completed ahead of the recent writers’ strike, and production began on the show in Thailand in July after the onset of the SAG-AFTRA strike with the British cast members who were members of Equity, the British entertainment union. Production was eventually placed on hold, but is expected to resume in the beginning of 2024.

When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s highly anticipated TV series Alien: Earth from creator Noah Hawley. FX’s Alien: Earth original series coming in 2025, only on Hulu.

Aside from Timothy Olyphant, none of those names ring any bells. Hopefully it's a good cast, and a good show.

Maybe. Possibly. Depends on the plot details and various other things. Having names attached to projects does not guarantee anything though. Ridley hasn’t exactly been knocking it out of the park recently. But, my interest has been piqued.

That's Vyvyan the Punk from The Young Ones flipping the bird in the gif. The character was played by Adrian Edmondson, who is going to be in Alien: Earth. (He also had a bit part in The Rise of Skywalker playing an Imperial officer.)
The Young Ones was a sort of early 1980s British sitcom about a group of college students living together in a flat that had a lot of crude humor, absurdist comedy, and slapstick elements -- sort of a cross between Monty Python and The Three Stooges. It was also notable for having early appearances by a lot of actors and actresses who would go on to become quite famous like Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Stephen Frost, Lenny Henry, and Robbie Coltrane.

Nice teaser trailer. This will be either a fantastic show with episodes that are riveting to watch from start to finish, or it may just be slow as heck and not really fun to watch except for a handful of kinetic moments in each episode. I hope the budget is such that we get to see the aliens on the show more than once every blue moon.
I kind-of wonder if the show would have been better served being set in a post Ripley time-line, where we know the company made the ultimate mistake of trying to bring back the creature as a battlefield weapon after rescuing Ripley from her ridiculously long hyper-sleep.

Yeah . . . not giving me hope when that is all we are still getting.
I am so torn. I typically like Hawley's stuff and love the first four films, but this is (from what we have so far) conceptually is feeling like a bad play ala AVP. However, the series has been trash since it came back.

Looks dope. And it looks like they shot it mostly in Thailand. My buddy sent me a text and said that the scene in 1:22 was his apartment.

Looks very expensive. Unlike the gap between the MCU movies and tv shows.
Thought this was interesting. Maybe you guys are big enough fans to already know this. I'll admit I only ever watched Aliens a few times, and the others maybe once. I never caught that Ripley floated in space for 50+ years in between.

It looks very cool. I am always up for more Alien lore (unless a Predator is along for the ride).
That said, I have no idea how they retcon this into the existing timeline.
